After hearing your dad talk about not knowing about EMS drug use I honestly think y'all should listen to "Deja vu" then y'all should do "castle" & "Arose" together
Em was a heavy heavy drug user especially after his best friend Proof was murdered. He od'd in 2007 and was apparently 2 hours away from dying according to the nurses and doctor's at the hospital.

Yea, Em was heavy on prescription painkillers. Percocet and Valium just to name a few. Overdosed and almost died from it. Been sober for over 10 years now. Thats why he always advocates against drug use in his songs nowadays. Tries to help others overcome their demons. That's wat makes this song so special. Basically showing the state of mind juice was in at the time, and trying to bring awareness in juice's name. I love it!
he's actually been sober since april 2008 so almost 15 years now. i'm happy for eminem, he went through so much and now he's living a happy life and has a healthy daughter and surrounded by good people.
Eminem was part of D12, where he had a song called Purple Pills. Eminem has said he abused Ambien/zolpidem, Valium/diazepam, and Vicodin/hydrocodone. He scared the world when he was in the hospital due to a Overdose back in 2007, after his overdose he was taking 75-80 Valium a night. Valium or Diazepam can be used to help with anxiety and Alcohol withdrawals. However can easily kill you if mixed with other substances.
Juice was such a talented dude. Eminem knew it too. Their voices sound so good together on these tracks. I wonder how Juice would feel about this track coming out now though, years after his passing. It's cool to hear something we never heard before from Juice, but on the other hand it's not like we can get his blessing to release it. I'm sure he'd love that Eminem was on the track though.
"Some friends will co-sign on your foolishness, even know they know it's wrong." That's Truth on Max level. I'll remember that quote for the rest of my life. 💯
I liked your Pops insight! Even though he somehow missed the knowledge that Em almost died from one of his overdoses, your pops comments were cool. I like this duo
Eminem was a huge drug addict back in the day, he overdosed twice and almost died. The fact that you and pops don’t know about that is CRAZY lmao I would love to see y’all react to the older crazier Eminem j think that could be interesting
Em had an addiction to prescription medication and was hospitalised in December 2007 after overdosing on methadone. Almost died, thats why he's talking about not taking for granted that he made it while shouting out and remembering those that didn't.
Recovery album is what helped me get sober and keep distance from my parents who where also users. A lot of the music he did about fighting back the addiction demons kept me fighting for years.
in the "Peep and ODB, ...almost OD'd B". part is referencing when em was popping vicodin, hydros, etc around 2006-2007 all day every day because he had trouble dealing with the loss of his best friend Proof due to rap beef that got personal. the staff told him if he had come into the ER even like an hour or two later, he wouldve been dead. He had kidney and liver failure at the same time because of the massive amount of pills he was taking. he has been clean since. doesnt even smoke weed anymore. EDIT: sorry if this comment is redundant. I see others have commented similar things
Eminem almost died from an OD after proof died. That’s why when he said his best friend died and the devil smirks at the beginning he said he understands how the addiction gets worse
Y’all were on point with “that chorus hits different now.” The whole mood of the song changed. When it first started, given how juice passed, I was feeling that this was an irresponsible message to be putting out, then em’s verse changed the whole meaning/feel of the song giving off a big bro vibe of “I ain’t lecturing the younger generation, this was my experience, please just be careful when….”
This song 🎵 is fire 🔥! A MASTERPIECE! 🖤🖤🖤 the perfect duo Eminem & Juice 🥤 soooo deep Em’s verse was soooo f’ing deep and also Em & Juice are THE 2 GOATS 🐐 from 2 different Generations. Love ❤️ them both, RIP 🪦 Juice WRLD 🌍 999 Forever!
"“I was so deep into my addiction at one point that I couldn't picture myself being able to do anything without some kind of drug.” As Eminem's career continued to take off, so did his drug habit. In 2005, Eminem checked into his first rehab for help. He says was taking up to 20 pills a day." - American Addiction Centers
Pops hit the nail on the head by asking if Juice would listen to himself if he could have a conversation w himself. Sadly I think the answer is no considering he was consumed by the drugs 😭 he was so aware but at the same time so negligent
Yeah i dont think he would've even gotten clean, like he said in wishing well, "If it wasn't for the pills, I wouldn't be here But if I keep taking these pills, I won't be here"
I think it's in Juice's lyrics, he wanted to quit, but when he was "clear"-minded he was around so much bullshit he just wanted to do drugs to feel different about it. I don't think he was consumed by the drugs, I think he was consumed by the environment where he needed to take drugs to stop his emotions from driving him over the edge, a lot of black men and minority men and men in stressful situations because of other reasons feel the same way. Men need to do better about their mental health as well as watch over the other men in their lives to make sure they are doing right by themselves, it's the least we can do for each other.
Eminem was heavy into drugs. Overdosed and was 2 hours away from death. That is why is is so perfect for this song. He was taking 60 Vicodin at once. We are actually lucky to have him rapping still. After rehab he had to teach himself how to rap again.

I get that some songs you can react to either if you know background stuff or if you don't and it won't make a difference, but with Eminem, listen, to fully appreciate what he's saying, how he's rhyming, you've got to know or try to find out what it is that he's rapping about, to actually fully appreciate it. He dropped so many names, some of them sound like just another word to someone who doesn't know those names, he's talking about how he knows what's going on with drug abuse and how he feels for those struggling with it, you can't really appreciate it without knowing that he was in fact a user and had a near-death experience. For example his diss at MGK (killshot) - half of the lyrics wouldn't make any sense if you didn't watch MGK's diss at Eminem first. Em addresses every single thing that MGK said about him, and turns it around against him in the most lyrical and logical way possible. Just because you don't care what's going on in someone's life or you just don't know - doesn't mean you have to go at people who do care, who follow their favourite artist's lives because they love their music and want to know its creators closer, they want to know how it came to be, what the verses mean and how the artist's personality reflects on the lyrics.
how the fuck does someone listen to something CLEARLY with autotune. people ACTUALY still debate if it is or not? wtf. i know the moment when i hear something raw compared to something with autotune. not just saying you guys but damn. its clearly autotuned.
