Vraks has been a battle we’ve wanted to do for a while, though last time we tried our poor server exploded. This time however we had better results despite me perishing at an extreme rate. The final cut of this video doesn’t have half the times I died in it because it straight up was getting monotonous to include every time a bolter sent me straight to the astral plane. speaking of fear, I got to ask what the ambiance music's name is there, as that would make great music for a dramatic death in a DnD campaign.

Boom Boom Boom Boom is the traditional choice for Krieger Morale Music, but Freebird is a good substitute for when the lads are feeling spirited.

Fun fact I can sum up how the siege of vraks started with one simple sentence, the assassination branch of the imperium dropped the ball and proceeded to make it the everyone else's problem as the eclisiarchy, inquisitors, and the assassin branches of the imperium all fought over who would best be suited to lead the siege leading to a leadership hot potato as the Alpha legion did what they did best and gave the Krieg marines a pretty nice vacation...

One thing that I love about the Death Korp, is that if one was to believe that the Emperor wanted them to, they would charge into an entire WAAAUGH of Orks by themselves with only a shovel, no second thoughts, no fear, ONLY FOR THE EMPEROR
Their purpose is to redeem their sins on the eyes of the Emperor, a sin so grave no single Krieger would be able to pay off the debt to the Emperor and only Death in combat furthering the Emperor's will they've got a chance of redemption
Also common misconception They're not Suicidal, they're willing to give their life but if their lives are thrown away with little to nothing to show for it they'll be quite upset as there's no furthering of the Divine Will,
Also Fun Fact, the Krieg Forces are the only forces that's got Commissars to ensure they'll not charge straight into the nearest Enemy and that's probably one of the most Dangerous Jobs a Commissar can get, as it's fairly common to be executed for cowardice by the Krieg unit he's trying to rein in
and theyd probably the emperors favourites if he was still alive as they are pure unmutated supremely orderly supremly loyal humans willing to die for him.

I love how Free Bird is not only played by the artillery crews but it also somehow accompanies their munitions.
The marvels of the 40th Millenium, my friend. Munitions with built-in, dedicated loudspeakers is no longer expensive and impractical enough to not be deployed, and the question as to why anyone would want or need them in the first place was never asked.

I love how by the end of it Jay had actually gotten into the spirit of The Death Korps of Krieg and ran straight for a fight with a Titan.

Ye, I don't really know much about all of the heavier stuff. I'm more into the guardsmen regiments and footsoldier stuff then the space marines, and more powerful stuff. Still fairly new to the franchise as well.
@@aceofspadesgaming1041 Easy way to tell; knights are smaller lol. jk jk. Knights have smaller cannons on their arms and maybe on their carapaces, they're also *much* rounder in appearance. Scout titans have wolfy faces on them, the next size up, Reaver titans iirc, are fairly 'flat' with derpy looking facemask-head-things and larger cannons on their arms and always have a singular, larger weapon on their backs. Warlord titans are the most common of the big boy titans and have two carapace mounted weapons on their backs. Then there's the warbringer nemesis titan which is called 'nemesis' because it's got a warlord (I think? might be Imperator titan) sized weapon mounted on its back, haven't been shown a normal warbringer yet. Then there's the Warmaster titan which is just. Something else absurd entirely and really only seen in the Heresy period, and finally there's the Imperator titan. aka: Notredame got pissed and turned all its flying buttresses into cannon towers and started walking toward you. Oh wait. That's the 40k Imperator. the 30k Imperator didn't have nearly the same level of decorations, but probably had the same fortress appearance with gun turrets everywhere on the back.

Fun Fact: Death Korp Quartermasters have the dual role of managing equipment and acting as the regiments field medics, stabilizing those who can be recovered and giving the emperors mercy to those beyond saving.

Also the Medics of the Death Korps are actually called Quartermasters and kill Wounded Krieger's if they don't Have any Medical supplies and They are more choosy with who they save, being able to be stabilized but no longer fighting fit isn't worth saving except to use as spare parts and blood for someone else according
It's not fighting fit, it's being able to move on their own power, wasting manpowee to help the non-walking wounded is considered a waste, especially when vitae mortalis drugs (super healing drugs effectively) exist. Meaning if their injuries are that sevre or they lack the med supplies it's 100% not worth the effort to try and save them (from the cold logistical perspective of the quartermaster, who sees the men as no different from the other equipment and ammo of the regiment)

It's crazy that Vraks, a planet-wide war, lasted like 3 times longer than World War 2, but resulted in like a fifth of the casualties
To be fair, calling it "planet-wide" is misleading, and there just weren't enough people on the planet to push casualties up that high.

I went from a Janovich video on the lore of Vraks, which… Vraks is CHAOS (literally) after and around the breaking of the second perimeter- Alpha Legion, Dark Angels showing up, blowing stuff up, losing half their chapter, and leaving, a Chaos armada, TITANS, EVERY BRAND OF TRAITOR MARINES, oh yeah AND A PUSH SO HORRIFIC AND MASSIVE THE DEATH KORPS *RETREATED*
Edit: This video is quite accurate to my idea of what the Big Push would be like.

In the Siege of vraks the only loyalist marines present for a very short time were the dark angels.

The Krieg DO NOT HAVE MEDICS in canon, only "Requisition Officers" (can't remember the proper name off the top of my head, but basically if a trooper is too badly injured in the field to "walk it off" then the supply officer "grants the Emperor's Mercy" then strips the corpse of all its useful equipment)!!!!!!

There absolutely needs to be a mod that replaces the sound of incoming artillery shells whistling through the air with Freebird.
Funny enough, Vraks is the one battle in Warhammer that I hear talked about so much but I still know basically nothing about it. I get the feeling this video will accurately describe how it went.
Oh yeah, it definitely sums it up exactly, especially the phrase "they still have more to stuff to throw at us?"...and this is all before the demons, Khorne and Nurgle marines arrived! You should really look up the lore though, it is one of the best written stories in 40K.
TLDR: cardinal thinks he can do a better job than the rest, the imperium tries to JFK him only to make him cause a coup and secceded, cue the Imperial Guard(Astra Militarum) to send the the Death Korps of krieg and siege the place for 17 years, shenanigans happens and we got 17 millions guardmen dead and a whole planet render useless
I'll give as short a summary as I can.
At first: Vraks is an armory world, storing tons of weapons, Ammo and shit for a lot of troops and a lot of space. Cardinal Xaphan, a minor leader among the Ecclesiarchy/ Imperium of Man's church, comes to Vraks to inspire faith in the workers and to further his own power. Eventually he starts to push Vraks to rebel against the imperium. they try to stop him, fail, and he goes full renegade.
Kriegers deploy to stop him, suffer monstrous casualties due to charging giant fortified walls, but push forward. At some point Xaphan dives into Heresy.
A band of chaos-aligned Alpha Legion Space Marines help Xaphan and summonn a full fleet of their friends, including titans. Imperium responds piecemeal, gets rocked some, but manages to force them into the central keep.
Loyal SM from Dark Angels come and help, destroying the spaceport and killing/capturing Alpha Legionaries before immediately leaving.
A nurgle warband called the Purge find potent chemical gas, and make it worse with nurgle-fu, turning regiments of Kriegers to puddles.
More SMs from different Chapters arrive, and eventually even Grey Knights to fight demons. Xapahn becomes a thing of horrors and a GK murders him on the spot, and some other stuff happens.
Vraks is secured, but tons of the good stuff are Looted or corrupted and lost to the Imperium.

Fun Fact: Krieg has a unit called "Quartermaster" who act as a mix of medic and priest since they do heal others, but often grant the Emperor's Mercy to those too injured to fight.
Funner fact: They often harvest reusable organs from those who have died and preserve them sometimes with the help of specialist servitors.
