Not to be a party pooper, but if they do not fix the many issues they have right now, they will not go far.
Wave 1 release is a complete catastrophe and they're already moving on to wave 2 while most people couldn't have full access to wave 1 (some people never even had access to it). Quality on quite a lot of pets is nowhere near as good as the OGs, some are even terrible in terms of paintjob. Color palettes on some upcoming pets are... An interesting choice, to be kind about it, and the SDCC dragons thing is not promising either.
Knowing they filed for bankruptcy, I hope they'll do better and actually listen to the community

so true. for me i can deal with everything but the colors and designs are driving me crazy!! have u seen the capybara colors?! LIKE WTF? at least for the first capy mold make it some cohesive design/colors!!,!😡😓😓😓
@@jude-cw3jt I’m so sad abt that because capybaras have been one of my favorite animals for a long time. Couldn’t they at least done pastel colors? I usually don’t mind bright colors but the palettes are just so jarring
Agree. The biggest complaint I’ve seen is that nobody is able to find wave 1 and besides that, it’s the quality of the pets that aren’t impressing people. Something I’ve noticed is that BasicFun is not good at deciding their audience. Most fans collect the mains but I thought it was good that they didn’t so they could keep us in a hook. But some pets and designs are atrocious to look at. They’re not fun but just bad and vibrant colors schemes with bad paint jobs and people like softer or more realistic colors. I think the whole Con Exclusive Dragon seals it. Nothing exclusive if scalpers are the only ones able to get it, it’s something the community will not stand for

Hearing about Basic Fun’s bankruptcy filing a while ago was quite unfortunate. Well, hopefully, the second series of the seventh generation of LPS can still sell later this year, yes?

Even if Basic Fun ends up going out of business there's always the possibility of another company picking up LPS. LPS are not the issue here, in fact they've been a positive for the company. The issue is more that Basic Fun is having troubles adjusting to todays market especially because of Toys R Us closing their stores in the States. Basic Fun is also competing not only with other toy companies but also big tech to get the attention of kids with toys that were created before big tech was as much of a thing with kids. Like i can't imagine how difficult it is to convince children nowadays to actually be interested in Lincon Logs or View-Master when they could do similar activities on their screens.
That is the sad reality.. 😢
Remember besties they're filing chapter 11 NOT chapter 7!! Chapter 11 bankruptcy is VERY COMMON within the business world and has happened to lots of very successful businesses👏 It is not a death sentence for Basic Fun, if anything it is a revitalization for the company to come back stronger, bigger and more successful than ever 🥰

I really miss all the lps videos and i was hoping it to last forever and im scared lps wont be existent in the future… i really hate that but im never gonna stop watching all lps videos and also my fave lps TH-camr lps honey , but i hope people come to making lps popular again , it is literally my childhood.. i love u honey❤

Maybe now they’ll release molds that people actually want. I’m not one of those people losing it over the lack of big 5 pets, I don’t care that much, but I will say that I think they chose some lousy molds for the big lps come back. Wave 2 looks WAYYY better in terms of molds from what i’ve seen (colors are um… a different story in some cases)
I didn't really expected all of this so suddentely but I'm hopefull about this situation. I've just started getting lps after years and years of watching lps tubers making amazing videos about them. I hope that they could get themselves back on because lps are amazing toys for children, teens and grown ups alltogether.
Guys they’re not gonna stop Little as pet shop. It’s is literally the most marketable title basic fun owns and it’s actually boosted up sells for them. I think the problem will mostly relate with their other toy brands and what they’re actually gonna keep around and what they’re not. little is pet shop is not on the chopping board and basic fun probably won’t shut down unless they get rejected forgetting the money to help their business continue..

I just wanna comment on around the 2:45 minute mark. I love how happy and enthusiastic you are talking about the BF! team. I feel like a lot of our community especially on insta tends to only speak on the negatives of BF! and LPS. "Theyre just doing this for money" "they don't care about our opinions" "pets are to bright" "sdcc exclusives are dumb" etc. And i can definitely understand why people may get upset over small things from time to time i think its so important for us all to realize that they do like the lps fans. They attended lpscon last year, they were in the lpstube ceremony, they work with our community (lps ambassadors) and im sure they want main 5s just as much as we do. Theres so much that BF! does behind the scenes but i genuinely believe they want the best for the brand and our community!
Also I definitely had a feeling there'd be "extra stuff" in 2024 mainly because the yr 1 goal was to have 140+ pets but the wave2 pamphlet only shows 59 pets. I'm hoping maybe it's like a mail-in sticker thing like back in G2 days. Like imagine getting a main5 from a mail in thing. Regardless of what the "extra things planned" are I'm super excited to see them and to watch the evolution of G7!!
Naw thanks! The BF team atleast on the LPS team are super kind and very much enthusiastic about the return of LPS, like the people I've spoke with on the team all care very deeply about what the community has to say and the future of LPS 😊❤️

I really hope lps does not end its business. I’ve watched lps videos in my childhoood and I’m gonna be terrified if lps does not exist anymore in the future. Hopefully the lps community lives for long.
Mot me being early! But back to the topic at paw. I personally think if they had a better game plan for releasing pets so it isn’t a messy release like last year, and it might be financially better for them because due to the popularity of lps and them almost always being sold out. So if they have a more organized release this might be a bit more helpful with the whole bankruptcy situation

Idk if it’s just my state, North Carolina stores haven’t been carrying a lot of lps. (Only 2 of the 3packs, the blind boxes, and a few big sets) and haven’t received anything new! Idk what’s up with that.
Same here. I’ve seen blind boxes at Target, GameStop, and Five and below. Pet pairs just showed up in Gamestop. Tubes at Target and I think Walmart if I remember correctly. I saw the pets got talent set at Hobby Lobby of all places. That’s all i’ve seen.
ive only seen the 3 pack tiki swt, blindbags and big playsets here... i rllllly wanted the pet pairs so i hope im able to find some soon :(

Tbh everything has not really been as promised. The release of wave 1 was an absolute mess, nothing was really communicated and some people still don’t have access to wave 1 in their stores. Their designs are very out there and questionable, and quality wise, it varies from good to honestly kinda bad. They’re not listening to or working with the community like they said they would (at least to the extend), and the code’s on blind boxes have been removed in certain productions (for reasons I’m not sure). The point of the codes were for collectors to collect the pets they wanted and not get repeats. If they are worried about people only buying certain pets, then they should up the designs and not make ugly ones. They have problems they’re not fixing or addressing and I think if they continue like this, the reboot won’t last in the long run.

Currently the quality of the pets, both wave 1 and 2 is atrocious. Wave 2 feels even worse.
If they don't listen to us on this and make releases international rather than so picky choosy, they're going to fail.
The majority of pets I receive are flawed, often majorly. I am lucky and got three SDCC dragon blindboxes because one of my followers is at the convention, but I am still unhappy about their price, the fact a collector's item has to be opened and thus damaged just to see it, and just being so inaccessible to the vast majority of people.
LPS just can't have an easy life, can it? I think its pretty cool though. It just shows how big of a fanbase it has. We've brought it back once, after having almost no hope.

Basic Fun asking for more money to keep going, when THEY’RE the ones who did a MESSY launch of generation 7 Littlest Pet Shops, is WILD.
I thought Basic Fun was doing great!? They have Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Littlest Pet Shop… How can someone with so many great properties be going bankrupt..? Also, none of those toys have very many or very detailed accessories, unlike Mattel or MGM’s dolls, so they must not be very expensive to produce.

The downfall of toys is so interesting, technology at a very young age has erased so many toy phases in children. 12 year olds in 2024 are more into sephora, trends, and micro niches when in 2010, 12 year olds would still be playing with toys wether that be LPS, MLP, Barbie, Bratz, Mons High, etc…
We just got season 1 and just got sneak peeks of season 2! Please don’t end! I just got back into lps and started collecting again. I was going to have just a corner just for them.

fans complain about EVERYTHING and don’t ever seem to be happy or satisfied with ANYTHING even tho i personally don’t get how because they’re quite literally using actual g2 molds and even using old g2 designs on their respective g2 molds so we literally have old lips back… so i feel like it might discourage basic fun to even try to fight to keep lps going

I haven’t been able to find LPS in stores for a while, when they are in stock and it’s the same things I’ve already purchased (blind boxes and the jungle set). I’m honestly really disappointed in the quality of the pets that have been released and the Roblox game 😅
I hope they don’t go Bankrupt! Basicfuntoys have very popular brands just not LPS, also Carebears and My little pony. And me being an lps kid at heart and getting back to collecting the new LPS it makes me sad about this situation. I hope they don’t go in that direction and I know for sure people who also collects other brands from Basic fun, they will definitely not go bankrupt. I can’t wait what else they release! I saw they’re gonna release an advent calendar. So can’t wait to see that! 💞

People seem to forget that if basic fun was to suddenly drop off the surface of this earth, there would 100% be companies looking to buy the lps ip of them. Its one of the biggest most successful toy franchises of ALL TIME. even in a worse case scenario lps wouldn't just vanish.

Hate being pessimistic but unfortunately it really feels like the LPS era is completely coming to an end. LPS haven’t been in stores for years worldwide, younger generations are simply not interested in toys anymore which is only bad news for the future of the brand. The low accessibility of the toys and neglecting the LPS community is even a bigger step for basic fun to lose profit, if they don’t make changes, LPS is gone.
