I crochet - how heavy do these blankets have to be? I have made them before, for use in VA hospitals, but not for anyone who is homeless. Thank you for all that you do.
Great question! Any weight will do for the blankets. Soldiers' Angels provides blankets for homeless Veterans via VA hospitals across the country. Our team will get the heavier/warmer blankets to VA's in colder states where our homeless Veterans need as much warmth as they can get! Lighter-weight blankets will be great for southern states where winters are cold, but not quite as frigid as the north.

Are both pieces of material fleece?
Yep! Both layers are fleece. You could use two pieces of the same color/pattern, or add some color by layering two different colors/patterns.
