Hey Ron, I want you to know I am glad I found this video. I just bought the IDEAL OmniSeal Pro Coax Compression Tool Kit, and I followed the instructions on the packaging with no success. Once I saw this video I was able to successfully crimp the F connecter. I think it would be IDEAL ( hah!) that you include some amended instructions that apply to rg6q cables. It would benefit those DIY homebuyers that are trying to route coaxial throughout their home on a bundget! Thanks for everything you do!
Hey Hedley Lint which tool kit did you buy? The connectors in the video are the same as the ones sold at Home Depot. Make sure to fold back both braids and remove the first layer of foil like I show in the video. That is usually why you can't push the connectors on all the way. Good luck Ron
The connectors I have are different that are on your Video. I''m going to Depot tomorrow to get some like you show. I have folded back the shield wires but must still be doing something wrong.

Hi James I have told contractors for years that the time to find out the connectors you have don't fit the cable is not at a jobsite. Have fun Ron
Is there anything wrong with brushing the braid back with a small stainless steel brush?
No that should work I use velcro on the stripping tool to fold back braiding have fun Ron
So this tool only compresses it, I presume I still need the tool to Crimp it.
Or is there 2 Styles.
Sam there are two styles either a crimp-on or the newer compression which is what your cable installers use today. Good luck Ron
Thanks for your help; not something they teach you as a programmer!
Tricia good to hear from you have fun Ron
What brand(make) connector do you use. I bought the tool kit at Home Depot. I cannot get the wire deep into the connector as you show.

Is there a reason you want to use RG-6 Quad? Usually RG-6 is good enough. Good luck Ron
I don't need and am not using RG6 Quad.
OK Great good luck Ron
Cover with heat shrink tubing
Lindsay you shouldn't need the heat shrink but it never hurts Ron
