27:30 Thank you for breaking this down, because Americans have the misconception that having a home is cheaper than renting when this is false; this is especially true in 2024 when the housing market and interests are high. They only focus on the mortgage vs rent costs, but don't take into account stuff like homeowner insurance, property taxes, monthly utility (natural gas, electricity, water, etc.), and the inconsistent costs of home repairs like a boiler breaking down or pipers bursting. Owning a home in America is VERY expensive and is almost maddening even in "middle-class" areas. If property values and interests were low and the purchasing power is high then owning a home would be a better idea for younger people, but not now....unless you are an elderly person who has no intention of ever paying off the home and no intention of passing ownership to your relatives. BTW, why are banks giving out 30-year loans to people in their retirement age of 65+? Banks are supposed to deny those type of loans because it destabilizes the housing market if homes are constantly getting put on the market every decade or so; this is the type of crap that led to the 2008 housing market crash.
Another very awesome video about how Americanism can solve problems, but create other problems. The Villages fascinates me as a Nurse. The Villages is the ultimate segregation of elderly people. All elders easy to reach with the good infrastructure. But at what cost? And here you make an excelent remark that elderly people are important for society too! and they should have their place without segregating them to "old people only" locations. In the 80's to the 00's the Netherlands had a system were all elderly could go to state funded "care homes". As it got more expensive, the quality went downhill very fast.
