Laptops, cameras, trumpets, guitars … sure yo I grab all the expensive gifts. What about those of us whose only Christmas wish is for one more wonderfully festive Rising Star 2 episode???? What about us?
As a person born on Dec 31 I do expect two gifts as my sister was born Dec 21 and she expect two gifts for birthday and Christmas. I also have 2 daughters and a few grandchildren birthdays around mine and it feels good being around Capricorn's and (wife) Taurus's.
Poor Santa... forced to steal for greedy kids who can't stand the word 'no' because the elves have no idea about electricity or electronics. They only know wood... and cloth. ♥ Those have to be Canadian security guards... it's true Canadian winter garb... shorts, a heavy jacket, and a toque. Also big boots or runners, depending on how deep the snow is. ♥ I have one sister who's birthday is Dec. 23rd. She always got birthday gifts as well as Christmas ones... like everyone felt sorry because she was born that close to Christmas. Me? I was born in summer in the same month as 3 other kids in the family. Those 3 had a party together and got gifts because their birthdays were close together. I was at the end of the month. I very seldom got a birthday gift... and never had a birthday party until my 16th birthday. Consequently, birthdays don't mean a lot to me.
My boyfriend's birthday is the day after Christmas and today I'm planning to get another birthday present for him because the first one got lost in shipping. It's a bit of a bummer to do the birthday gift shopping while everyone's in the Christmas shopping rush, but OF COURSE he gets Christmas AND birthday gifts. ❤️
Happy birthday, Dave. And my friend, Dawn, has her birthday the day after Christmas. She told me her family divides her presents so she gets half on Christmas and half on her birthday. Bleh. This game looks pretty cool.
Not born around Christmas, but I was born just a few days (and a few decades) after my father, and growing up we would celebrate both birthdays at the same time. A birthday party? We just had one for you AND your father. A cake? We just had one for you AND your father. Going out to eat? We just did that for you AND your father. A present? We just got that new grill for you AND your father. What? No you can't use it, you're 4, you'll set the yard on fire.
I ever mention Santa creeps me out to the point of near-phobia? Because yep. This was funny, though. I've known a few Christmas babies, too, and yeah, it's really, really shitty to give them one gift. Heck, I was born in late September, and *I* had the occasional relative do that to me. "Oh, well, it's extra expensive, and I won't see you at Christmas so here's your birthday+Christmas present." No, Aunt Jean, that's not how it works. I don't care if you have to halve the budget and ship the second present. Kids need separate presents for separate holidays.
at one point in my life I knew 5 people who were xmas babies, born on the 25th of Dec ... now years later I can only recall 2 of them. but I do remember them saying it sucked as a kid being born on xmas day cos you basically don't have a birthday/special day of your own, it's everyone's special day (and you only get gifts on one day of the year) 😕

In their defense, you probably would set the yard on fire
