American Singer/Instrumentalist FIRST time EVER hearing Dimash - SOS

Im sorry, no disrespect to other fine singers with big ranges....but Dimash is a whole other ball of wax. Hes not just top of the mountain. Dimash IS the mountain.
His power and control.... the unbridled passion. He's fearless.
His phrasing...timing and nuance bores right into your soul. He's not just a pretty voice....but a voice that captivates and takes you on a journey. He's creative. He's innately so musically gifted he knew from a toddler.
Dimash is 100% present. He lives within the music.
He's very intellectual and philosophical. Highly educated and well read. Groundedand much wiser than his years. He's mature. A grown up. Yet maintains a spirited inner child. He's loving and kind and humble and well mannered. He learns quickly. His. presence and command of the stage is off the charts charismatic. Dimash studied classical....but also other genres. And that foundation shows. Most reactors have little experience in serious music or anything outside their usual genre so much goes by them They may not be aware of the subtle dynamics .They just know he sings good. Dimash is just on a different level of quality and mastery and artistry. But... also important.....his versatility. He can sing anything. He is a person of depth and substance personally. Sensitive but strong. He brings a cornocopia of interpretive possibilities. And gives 100% with total abandon and vulnerability. He's not about the fame. He's about the music. Honoring his country, his family, his fans and his world. To try to create connection between us as human beings no matter the nation, race, gender or age.
He is a composer himself works with other composers, and will sing covers.
He's a diplomat and has been called to meet world leaders. Been given award after awards by governments and music Organizations. After the Singer show in China....where he competed with well known professionals. He blew them away. They could only give him 2nd place since he was foreign and an unknown. But since that show...he has become a world wide phenomena with the largest documented fan base in the world.
Dimash conducts himself with grace and dignity. He approaches his music with the same dignity and respect. He takes it seriously. The light hearted moments are for fun. But as a human being....he gives a damn. He's passionate about what goes on in the world and the well being of his people. Only a man with such a rich and profound soul can sing so profoundly. The others may try to imitate. But they will never succeed. There is only one Dimash.

Stranger - being in English - I agree is a great song at the beginning of the rabbit hole.
Also, the epic feel of that song is so cinematic it could easily be used in films - it makes me feel like I’m in a Pirates of the Caribbean or Prince of Persia movie kinda vibe.

Your guest is right. There’s no comparison. First of all, I am a Filipino. I had supported marcelito since his journey in pgt. Till his international quest. The first time they were in awe to hear a self duet. As what Simone said “give us something different”, and he can’t for that’s what he is gifted of. Whereas Dimash, every time he sung is a surprise. It’s always different even if it’s the same song. It’s always with a twist. He doesn’t become boring. He will continue to surprise and intrigue you. 5 years listening/watching him almost everyday, three different concert and I’m still as excited, as awed as the first time I heard him. Dimash is the epitome of vocal protégée. A genius that could only witness in a lifetime.

Dimash also has Celine covers, All by myself and My heart will go on. Both are amazing. I know Marcelito did My heart will go on. It's always fun to see people react to Dimash. I found out that people who sing professionally and voice coaches are way more impressed with Dimash than people who don't sing. He is truly in a league of his own.
Also the greatest singer was a TV show he was on. He doesn't claim he is the greatest singer. He is a very humble guy.

Hiya🤗 it’s great to see you introducing professional people to Dimash.. When are we gonna enjoy a Dimash 3 performance rollercoaster like you have with Ren? Every DEAR could name their 3 fave performances or 3 performances of the same song.. SOS has the greatest amount to choose from.. Dimash was singing SOS before he was on the Singer in 2017 and performs it at every event he has attended along with his concerts of which there are good quality fancam footage.. His highest notes to his low notes are perfect but every performance is micro managed for maximum emotion.. The main ability that know one can emulate is his gift of performing with passion in 15 or so languages.. Every concert since the pandemic has a cultural song that he gives new life.. From songs sung in multiple music styles from classical to pop,, the Dimash masterclass is exceptional..
When you have experienced his C2 up-to his D8 you will be ready to deep dive into The Story of One Sky.. This is a mini movie inspired by MJ’s Earth Song.. YMA SUMAC! Only female to rival DIMASH in range & control. But there's only one DIMASH 4 EVUH when it comes varied talents- from composing, arranging, performing, playing various instruments, singing in multiple languages! His "Story of One Sky" is a D-mashterpiece. 13 mins long. He took 3 years to comppose, arrange & write screenplay. He acts in it, also. Again....aside the the amazing vocal acrobatics....he's on his knees....singing into the stage floor. I keep pointing this out because normally singers are mostly standing up.. sometimes seated. This song is from the Canadian-French rock opera Starmania, written in 1976 by Michel Berger and written by Luc Plamondon. He made his debut in 1978 with a studio recording of songs, before the stage premiere in 1979. The main character sings this lullaby when he loses his beloved. This is a lullaby. Honestly, Black Pegasus, Dimash is unto his own genre and it’s fruitless to compare him to anyone else. It’s not fair to the other artists. Dimash has a Bachelor’s and Masters degrees and is in the midst of a Doctorate, all of them in musicology. He is a singer, composer, lyricist and producer, able to play 7 instruments perfectly and sings phonetically in 14 languages. He is fluent in Khazac and Russian and is conquering Mandarin and English. So unfair to compare him to any one else because he is on a planet all his own.

It's so cool watching you when you're watching someone else react to Dimash for the first time, you look like a proud Dad lol. Seriously though you need to check out some other songs. Dimash performs best in front of a live audience especially for his Dears, he comes alive then. You have only scratched the surface of his amazing repertoire and will be stunned on hearing his diverse talent. Btw you pronounce Marcin ...Marchin and he does everything on one guitar! Check out his Still Dre, brilliant. Also he sometimes collaborates with my favourite guitarist Ichiko Nito, different styles but together amazing. I am surprised you have not listened to more of Dimash's songs yet but do yourself a favour and make time and please react, I can't wait to see how mind blown you will be. I love that you are introducing Dimash to other professionals. Although this version of SOS is not my favorite because of the way the sound was mixed. Sorry.... not only because of his range, but also his diversity in genres of music, Dimash is the singer of the millennium. I've found no-one in written history that can do what he does. Will there be another? We probably won't be alive to see it, and that probably also goes for our great, great grandchildren.

This song is a French cover, from the rock opera Starmania in the 70's... It was written by Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon, especially for Daniel Balavoine, unknown at this time... Then he became famous, and also the favorite writer, composer and singer in France. Unfortunately, he died in an helicopter accident during the race Paris-Dakar almost 30 years ago, but he's still in our hearts, always covered by French and foreign artists. He left amazing songs and albums we can still enjoy, even nowadays, with a crazy and unique voice too...
