    I had this carseat for my first two babies! You make excellent points about the traveling aspect of it (something I have not explored myself)! I have one thing to add, for anyone thinking of using it for more than one baby back-to-back: I think it's great when it's your first child, you have a big gap between kids, or (if it's a smaller gap) your older child can easily walk and/or you're not planning to go for a very long walk with your Doona. But if you have a second child who will need to ride or be carried, it's really not so useable then. My two little ones are 17 months apart, so if I wanted to use my Doona, I often ended up pushing it with one hand and pushing an umbrella stroller with the other! In my case, for longer than a VERY short trip, a double stroller (possibly with a baby carseat attachment) would have been much more useable. Still a lovely stroller that we have really enjoyed... but at the US pricetag of $500, I don't recommend it to most people for that reason! :)

    Hi All, Just to add to anyone considering purchasing one of these, that I would recommend getting the isofix base if you plan to use it a lot, as it makes getting the car seat in and out much easier!

    We bought this for my son 2 years ago ☺️ and use it from his 1st day to nearly 18-20 months. When I go to vaccination that time very easy to use in taxi and some drivers are also surprised when they help me to keep it inside as a car seat!!!!well now my son is 2 years old so I bought a new pushchair for him in lock down time but recently we can use it. 😂🤣 well it’s actually very easy and clean to use it, and not look like a heavy vehicle like another stroller.

    As far as storage, just get a nice sized baby bag! Fawn has a good sized one that you can use as a messenger bag, or book bag! Also, I use its rizzy’s purse/baby bag cross body purse for smaller/ quicker stops! Oh Fawn comes with hooks that you can hook on to the stroller! Plus they have a really cute pink option that goes well with the pink doona!

    When the handle is in the middle it's in carrier position. When the handle is forward but not extended it's in carseat position. The handle acts as a rebound bar in case of a car crash (an enhanced safety feature that Doona provides). When the handle is all the way back it's in air travel position.

    • @FrighteningFettuccine
      @FrighteningFettuccine 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FrighteningFettuccine You can take car seats on planes. It just has to be approved to be used with the airplane seat belt and you need an individual seat for the baby in the car seat.

    This is fantastic, I'm glad you gave pros and cons. Like I know I'd want to buy the extra storage to be safe but with a newborn or even a child under six months I know I'd mainly be doing short errands. I needed a c section with my last baby and we know we want a second so I've been eyeing the Doona to save me from carrying a carrier post c section if I need one again. Looks like the Doona really would solve that, as soon as the seat is out if the car it can be a stroller which is great. And having a stroller with the baby at all times when mom or mother in law could be watching them is wonderful. As you said I can see it not being for everyone but I see it being good for me.
    Also I have read the way the wheels are folded up also makes it safer in crashes, it's extra protection, so something else to note. I think I wouldn't pay regular price for it but I would absolutely seek it out on Black Friday as you did.

    FWIW, 13kg is usually more like 2 - 2.5 for most children, but of course a lot of children over 1 prefer to be more sat up in the car. But if they can fit within the shell of the seat and are under 13kg, it's fine to use this car seat past a year. It's actually one of the bigger ones on the market, so a lot of children will fit it up to the age of around 18-24 months. Maybe not as their everyday seat or for longer journeys, but for travelling or the other scenarios you mentioned, it can be useful.

    Really enjoyed watching this video! I was wondering if there is ever any issues with blowouts? Typically if a baby has a blowout in a stroller there is a clean car seat available for the baby but if it’s shared car seat and stroller then cleaning it would be necessary. Also, you made a good point about it not reclining. I’d add it’s probably not as useful to moms who have to climb a lot of stairs to get in and out of their homes (like me) because then maybe I’d rather have a more lightweight car seat? Would this be something to consider?

    It should also be stressed to parents and carers that children should never be in these car seats for more than a specific amount of time. It can warp the airways of the baby with their position and can result in death. Its not an overexageration either. I know a girl who's baby stopped breathing after a bus trip and walk around town in this shaped carseat and walk-in staff haf to resuscitate her. She suffered 3 more of these episodes in hospital after that, and was left with excess fluid on her brain. Children should never be left in a sitting position or a curved spine position and chin should not be resting on the chest. I loved the idea of the convenience of these pushchairs, thought they were genius, until i saw what those carseats can do to a baby. Now, not only are babies in those carseats for longer than they should be while in the car, but are then staying in it for their trip out of the car. Its so so so dangerous hoenstly and shouldnt be allowed without a warning. A car beeps when a seatbelt isnt on, a microwave beeps when foods done, clock beeps when alarms go off, and i believe carseats should beep after the recommended time. These push chairs should have a limit on how long they will function for in one go, to comply with the recommendations of how long a baby should be sat like that

      I did have one but have just sold it! I live in a flat so it was really just a bit too big for me.
      As a pushchair it's really good. Lovely to push and the wheels are great, can go over any terrain. Will fit through all standard doors. Turns very easily, much better than a tandem buggy. Great for twins and children of different ages because its so adaptable. storage is great in single mode because you have the amazing side basket. However in double the space underneath is quite small.
      The main downside is its big and heavy. If you have a big car and the space to store it then I think it's great.
