When I heard The Mavericks for the 1st time I bought their cassette right away. Raul Malo-exquisite voice on one of the greatest songs of all time. No musical boundaries can contain this music.
His voice is a treasure! He just reminds me of my childhood in Miami. We would play with all the cubans in our neighborhood that escaped Castro. We also listened to all these songs growing up! xx

I think the Mavericks big hit was over exposed.i presented radio in the mid 90's im guilty as charged.Therefore some didn't hear the true talent of this man and his colleagues. They are amazing.

Raul Malia must have the rudest fans possible. There is very little content on TH-cam that is not live. I would LOVE to have access to a collection of studio recordings so that I could just enjoy his gorgeous voice without all of the drunken raucousness. Nothing against alcohol - unless it is the gateway to rudeness. I'll never understand why people pay exorbitant prices to listen to someone in perform in person, and then they blatantly disrespect the artist and the other audience members.
The few concerts I've been to in the past ten years or so have been a lot like this video--- people talking, yelling, singing along--- and it does ruin it, especially when the noise is right near you. Professional live recordings can be good, but bootleg videos are almost as bad as the in-person rudeness. I usually look for studio versions on YT, but either Raul hasn't done this song in the studio, or there just isn't a video available on YT.
