I'm really intrigued by the potential arrival of RuneScape in VR! As an old-school MMO player, the idea of experiencing RuneScape in virtual reality sounds amazing. The discussion about Orbus VR's lack of updates and the challenges it might face is also interesting - hopefully, they can come up with new features to keep the player base engaged. Looking forward to more updates and news on upcoming VR MMOs
Hats off to all the small development teams pouring life into vr games. Some of them are truly amazing! Zenith has shown me that vr is headed in a good direction. If a smaller team can put something like Zenith together with the limited capabilities of systems like my quest, I can only imagine what can be achieved by studios like Ramen when the average vr system has 10x the cpu and gpu power. It's going to be Epic!
I played all those VRMMOs: Orbus, Zenith and Ilysia. Starting with my first one: Orbus was working well with new content coming up and a decent player base too. After Jake E, the main dev in the game, announced moving out from the dev team, we knew that there was nothing new coming to the game any longer. It felt good playing it though, there are so many different activities like dragon racing, fishing and critter catching and they're awesome Zenith: it felt really great playing that one as well. Actually I just don't still play it because I've been playing Dungeons of Eternity a lot lately. But one of the things that makes me unwilling to play it a lot anymore is that the new content pushes end-game players to fight Sae Jiko, the new WB. Being a WB, we need lots of players fighting or else we don't succeed. She has been harder each day as we barely see players fighting her, so we get stuck in low level activities (btw, I love hunting for pets) Ilysia: the map is really well designed and it feels like we need to learn how to move around, as there's no map to help. The combat system certainly needs some attention and we know it's getting better soon. The inventory is the most creative I've seen so far. Riding the balloon is so cool! But what keeps me from playing it again for now is that the only thing we can do there is combat related. Seriously, for any MMO I've played in my life, I love doing non-combat related activity. Aaand that makes me SOOOOO excited for... Runescape: Really? REALLY?? If that dream comes true, I'm stopping everything I'm doing in my life. I've played RS for years and years, and I never get tired of it. ... I mean, I do LOL but it takes a loooong time for that. Anyway, what makes me excited for that one is that we know RS has so many non-combat related activities, and they'll certainly be back in the VR version.
I played with your friend in Dungeons of Eternity. He mentioned these mmos as well as mention your name being on the leaderboards in some category. I'm quite surprised to see you here, but then again the VR community is smallish.
I play both Ilysia and Orbus. There's stuff that I love in both games: Ilysia - map size - recent game with all new players - decent graphics - Medieval fantasy theme - Full body OrbusVR: reborn - you can use walking sensors which are awesome to do exercise - the pking system
People are still playing OrbusVR? I passed up purchasing it today, because from everything I've read, it's a dead game with only like 20 people who are playing it.
@@mattr1554 it seems "dead" when you look at the charts but believe me its not, you find alot of people all the time of all levels, although mostly high levels. The charts are not correct, dunno if thats because most people play on Quest
Zenith announced in their ama Livestream the next update was an overhaul to the world, calling it Zenith 2.0, not 1.4. Love the channel, keep up the great work!!
Yes exactly I think the 2.0 is more of a moniker like the second version of zenith as in it's going to be a much better version but I think the literal update would be 1.4 something or possibly they will just skip over and go straight to 2.0. Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it!
ilysia has scratched my mmorpg itch much more than zenith, but we are still a bit far off from a true mmorpg vr experience on quest, so far. until then, im grateful for ilysia.
So far for me, nothing even comes close to Zenith for pure enjoyment. Just today I had the chance to help out a fellow player while doing public events. Even with all the bugs, Zenith is a much smoother experience. Orbus still interests me, but I haven’t revisited it in quite awhile. I have been enjoying Ilysia, for what it is at the moment, but the combat is definitely lacking. They also need to make certain quests (like ridding an area of beasts) repeatable for level grinding and money making. They could make each time you do it more difficult or demand more beasts be slain.
The best way to save orbus VR is to make a orbus VR 2 that up to date or maybe a little ahead. Orbus was great for its time but VR had changed dramatically.
How would they work the skilling in vr? There are two ways they could go about it. Have people walk around like they do normally in vr and actually do the skilling with controller movements. Or they could keep the same movement system, but use a sort of automatic skilling like it does when you click on the action on pc.
We have developed it so that for skilling in VR, you have to perform the action. want to chop a tree? Better start swinging that axe! Need to start a fire? Pull your backpack/inventory off your back and take out the tinderbox and use it on the placed logs for a chance to start a fire
I still play Orbus VR nearly every day. I have since the days of my quest 1 as it eas the only MMORPG about. I see that there is an influx of new 'green leaf' players, some of which stay. I get enjoyment out of helping them and playing the elder statesman.
Instead of doing a factionless class, why not do the city of heroes approach where you have areas that are neutral ground so you can do quests across factions
As affordable VR systems improve the interest, and therefore more funding, will see more fleshed out MMOs. Can I dream and see the new EverQuest as a VR title? I sure can 😉
I've been waiting for a new Zenith Winter Festival to be announced, hopefully announced in Nov and starting mid Dec. I also own Ilysia but I've been waiting for it to show more progress before playing it again. I never played Orbus and it feels like it would be a step backwards at this point.
The problem with VR MMOs is they don't feel like the game I want it to be. I want WoW in VR. I want that story line and those classes. Ilysia isn't finished or as fun to play. Orbus doesn't have that magic. Zenith isn't fantasy enough. They are fun games. Just not fun to me.
if runescape VR is actually coming out, and it has eevrything runescape has to offer and its done proper i can say runescape will be the game ill play religiously because it has so much.
Hii love your videos im super interested in llysia but the only thing that stops me for getting it is the spiders I have a really bad arachnophobia and was wondering are there any options to turn off spider enemies or something that replaces their models ? Or if not if the developers could add a option like that for people with arachnophobia. So far I only have zenith and would love to play more other mmo games
Shame about Orbus. I think a skill overhaul would help. I have just never gotten "into it" the way some folks did, and I've been tinkering with it since my old Google Cardboard headset.
15 years in development total well working on fallout 3 and other games but after the dlc for fallout they spent Three years working on just Skyrim then it released. Roughy 100 devs
I started playing MMOs back in 1999, I love indie games and want to support every game with heart and soul and especially VR titles. Having said that, I bought and refunded Ilysia very quickly. The game showed very little attention to detail or inspiration, and even the login process was buggy and unpleasant. If they needed more funding to keep developing, they should have not released a barely working tech demo with little function. Sorry but their core demographic are not ignorant face breathers that eat whatever half baked crap is shoveled thier way.
Man i spent $200 on ilysia kickstarter like 2 years ago... now im starting to become a little disappointed....... wtf... where's the WoW feel? There's like NOOO mobs or boszes to even kill from what it looks like.
To be honest, it looks worse than Orbus and much worse than the original Orbus. I feel like it looks very inactive and cheap and a lot of ways as well as uncreative typical fantasy s*** that you see everywhere. That is not intriguing. I really hope that the game will improve over the years. Get more animation, better graphics, better content. A bigger development team and that the game can become something truly special, but honestly I feel like it's not even going to be worth the time or money for another 2 years

Yah but noobs.. Ei's gonna need a boat anchor
Every VR game looks like a damn 2005 tech demo.
It’s all being developed to run standalone on quest hardware
The turning point is coming Very soon my friend 🙏🏼
Would be great if one of these games would have a Necromancer class. I'm ready to do some summoning in VR. lol
Hey why don’t you dig into OathBreakers?
I got a couple videos on this channel on it

Where do you source this info about RuneScape?? Got excited at the thought, done some digging, but can’t find a single nugget about it :(
All of my videos have links to our discord server :)

love the concept of ilysia but daaaaamn is it lonely. got the game a few days back and haven't seen one player.
Quest 3 🫡
TRUTH OUT.. Cool but We know it will need a cage of some sort.. Or someone will brake their body some how
