Hi, the piece of plywood that you put in the description has a different price than what you said. I want to make sure I get the right size so can you please give me the dimensions of it before it was actually cut.
hi kimberlyn i just wanted to ask u if u could tell me the measurements of the table top .. i followed ur video and made mine ass well 😊 i just don’t know what size of table top to order from ikea
The video does show or explain how the cords are attached to the cord that plugs into the wall. Can you explain that part? And do the 3 bars connect with each other?
Anyone building this should make sure to use LED lights. If those were all regular light bulbs, that would be 960 watts running through that extension cord, which will start a fire.
Na that extension cord is probably 13 Amps (bought one from walmart that looked the same and its 13 Amps) and rated up to 1,625 watts. But if you were to get a really low amp extension cord you could have problems on your hands tho.
Girl you did a FANTASTIC job on that mirror! I ordered mine off of Amazon and spent almost twice as much as you did! I wanted to build one but I wasn't confident enough in myself to do it so I had to wait for tax time to buy it. Good job! You could build these and tell them for $300 easily! :)
I have been looking for a vanity and can't find anything I like for a decent. I love your videos, the one without the light and this one with the lights. You just gave me the idea to make my own. This video is a great tool! It turned out amazing! Thanks for sharing!!
I cant wait to make mines. I'm an electrician so I plan putting a outlet and dimmer switch on mines. I really loved the step by step instructions and the measurements. You did a great job lady!
let me just say i build furniture and you did an amazing job from start to finish. and for anyone who needs a lot of storage make a high vanity using more sturdy 4 drawer kitchen cabinets from home depo they are deeper for hair supplies. just a tip
The green screw that you ignored is for electrical ground. They get wired the same way. That way, if the lights malfunction, you don't energize the metal and electrocute yourself or start an electrical fire. This would also require you to use an extension cord that has a ground connection.
You're so awesome 👏🏻 I love to see independent women doing things that men do just goes to show women can do anything!! Love your vanity you did an awesome job 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻🙌🏻
Don’t forget the ‘pull test’ to make sure you have good electrical connections! Pull the cap to make sure the innerspring in your twist on cap is ‘grabbing’ the copper wire. She did a good job! Looks great!
I’ve been looking into vanities and can never find an affordable one in the style I want/like. Found both your DIY Tutorials while searching on google lol. Loved your video and how your vanity came out absolutely beautiful. I love finding easy DIY projects for things that cost way to much or are out of my price range. I’ll be taking on this project with my dad as he’s more handy and knows a lot more than me. Especially when it comes to electrician stuff lol.
please post pictures...I would love to see it. It is black Friday and I am shopping for a vanity but after seeing this I would love to make it in this in Black. A white vanity for me would stay dirty.
YES GIRL! I love seeing other females build things, create things from scratch! The instructions for the wiring aren't very clear and concise, and I think that some people who don't know anything about wiring may have some problems following the instructions... but the rest of the video is totally worth watching to see exactly how you made this work, and you make it look so easy to create this masterpiece... thanks for sharing. I really feel like I can tackle a project like this and build a beautiful vanity mirror for myself! Cant wait to start :)
Ariel Audrey I got chrome lights from amazon for mine but you can get the white ones at Lowe’s, Home Depot or on amazon. The link says it’s not available but just search the name it will pop up.
This review is completely amazing and useful, I did all the steps and I bought and mirror from amazing and it was a totally success! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Everything is set up and looks really nice. My mirror was tipping forward on my table top because it was heavy so my husband had to rig it on one side to prevent this from happening but I would suggest putting hooks on the back so it can stay against the wall.
So much is impressive about this video. You really didn’t know what you were doing and called your father for advice and counsel, you asked for assistance when you needed someone to hold things while assembling, you did it correctly and showed others how to do it properly, you are quite attractive, and have a fantastic mind. Genuinely impressive. Great job and great results. That is legitimately first-rate work you did there. Well done.
Thank you sooooo much!!!! I'm going to build this for my girlfriend and give it to her for Christmas I want to do a DIY vanity table and drawers. Do you have another video of that ?
Yenifer Herrera I completed it already and will be giving it to her for Christmas 😀 I can’t wait! I’ll post a video on my channel so you can see. I actually added a switch to mine on the side. My brother is an electrician so he helped me install it.
I just ordered my vanity lights from amazon & bought the bevelled edge mirror @ home depot ❤️ I’m so excited to build mine! My husband is helping me assemble! Thanks for the video girl! Better than spending $400+ on a hollywood mirror
generoso gonzalez I ordered my vanity strips off Amazon! I bought a 6 light & 5 light bar in the brand Nuvo I believe! I am in Canada as well Im not sure if that makes a difference. Mine arrived in 3 days :)
awesome job girl! I am definitely doing this! Honestly I have seen a bunch of Lighter Vanity Mirror DIY videos and none made sense to me lol! This one was so easy to understand! Love it!
I don't know who originally came up with this dupe, but I got the idea by watching you and everyone else I see came after yours, and no one gives credit where credit is due!! I think you did an amazing job on this!!!! 😍😍
This was really inspiring! Wish i had the time to do this !!

Nice video. Ordered all the stuff mostly from lowes and Michaels. It ended up being around $420 total, I didn't have any of the items and had to buy them all. The 5 bulb white were all sold out everywhere, so I ended up ordering the chrome ones. I will be recording and doing a how to video. Will send you the link once it's finished. Thanks for the inspiration my girlfriend will love this!
veganratmama on an extension cord there's two connected cords, one has a completely smooth plastic wrapping around it while the other has ridges in the plastic wrapped around it
Thank you for the video! I want to start building this for my girlfriend. One question. The piece of wood you have is 44.5” but the width of the mirror (36”) and the width of 2 light bars (4.5” each 9” total) wouldn’t the wood need to be 45”?? What am I missing ?
Wooooow!! I was going to pay $1,000 dollars for one of this, but now with your helpful video I’m going to tell my dad if he can create it for me. I love it 😍 yours it’s so beautiful 😍
There's one extension cord that you leave the male (prong) end on, and when you strip the female end and wire connect them to the final vanity plate wiring, it's a complete circuit.
I am so so glad I found this video I’m about to start building a vanity in my bedroom at first I had a Hollywood mirror from amazon gonna buy it but I checked TH-cam and here you were!!! Lol thanks so much!!!
I love DIY videos and I do actually watch a lot of them. I think it's great and allows you to be self-sufficient but prior to watching this video, I checked and they all seemed quite expensive but then I checked again, and found out few places that they sale Vanity mirrors for less than 60 bucks. In this case, although I think doing everything on your own from scratch is such a great idea, I don't think I would contribute since it takes a lot of time and effort to get the job done. Despite all, I think your tutorial is amazing and your did a phenomenon job and thank you for taking a time and showing us how to do it. xoxo
what you could do is get longer corner braces and attach them on the bottom in the back, you can attach one part of the corner brace to the bottom of the vanity part and have the other part going down and you can attach it to the back of the drawers
I was gonna say your a diy boss and probably put a large majority of men to shame with your effortless diy skills and use of a power tool 😲👍👍… it seems like I’m one of many comments from ppl admiring the skills tho - love it 💜🧡

Arielle Pritchett A Mirror+vanity like this can be up to $600. I've been looking all over the place for a descent set without braking the bank but that's not happing. Haha. It is probably really time consuming but in the end if your saving money and you can be a bit proud of yourself for making it. 😊
Wow A-mazing! U just scored me Tons of points with my 1st wife! Ive been thinking how to fix ( lighten up) my remodeled bathroom mirror on the cheap. Thanks So much! BTW 37 yrs with her so far!;)
You’re a trooper Kimberlyn. I’m here thinking of asking an electrician in my neighborhood to do this for me!! But watching you! I may be able to do it myself. I already have a mirror w/a frame around it and K was thinking I might can add the lights on the frame of the mirror. We had to redo our house after the flood and I changed out the vanity lights so I would only need the top lighting. I haven’t measured anything yet though!!
I know I’m 3 whole years late, but I could barely focus because your hair is ssssooooooooo shiny and beautiful!!!!! Your hair texture is sssooooooooooooo gorgeous
Omg!!! This is like the easiest way I’ve seen to make one!!! My hubby agreed to make this for me 😝!!! Only thing I will change is the light bulbs for clear LED white light bulbs, other than that girl you did this!!!!
Your a beast girl. God Bless you sweetheart. You see you showed me how to make the vanity but now you went ahead and made the lighting. Now girl, you know I won't be able to that? I'm scared to mess with electricity. I'm definitely going to try to make the vanity. Wish me luck! @Kimberlyn XO
All details including items used and wiring instructions are listed in the description box below the video!
Hi, the piece of plywood that you put in the description has a different price than what you said. I want to make sure I get the right size so can you please give me the dimensions of it before it was actually cut.
Kimberlyn XO is the mirror just set on the desk or is it secured by anything??
hi kimberlyn i just wanted to ask u if u could tell me the measurements of the table top .. i followed ur video and made mine ass well 😊 i just don’t know what size of table top to order from ikea

I have been looking for a vanity and can't find anything I like for a decent. I love your videos, the one without the light and this one with the lights. You just gave me the idea to make my own. This video is a great tool! It turned out amazing! Thanks for sharing!!

Which ones would you recommend for this build?
when she pulled out the extension cord i left.
Update: I did...the extension cord 😭
A’niya Scott soon she stareted to paint da thing I left 😂😂😂
Girl she lost me at “wire”
lmaoooooi
It was the wood on the floor for me😭😭
Can we all appreciate how she just painted in her living room over carpet.
Girl I tip my hat to u!! U did ya thing girl. U were seriously an electrician. It turned out fantastic
The green screw that you ignored is for electrical ground. They get wired the same way. That way, if the lights malfunction, you don't energize the metal and electrocute yourself or start an electrical fire. This would also require you to use an extension cord that has a ground connection.
Mathew Peterson so what do you do with the green screw?
my light fixtures i got have a ground wire hut i dont know what to do with it?? help!
So you wire screw to screw and at the end connect the green cable to the ground in the extension cord?
Genius!! I've always wanted to make a Vanity with lights .. I'm definitely going to watching this vid over and over ...
You're so awesome 👏🏻 I love to see independent women doing things that men do just goes to show women can do anything!! Love your vanity you did an awesome job 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻🙌🏻
Elicia Garcia thank you! ❤
Elicia Garci
Even though she clearly said her partner helped her with this
@@Allymickey she literally did this mostly by herself but go off I guess?
Except buy it, lift it and mount it. And then opened a jar for her later
Don’t forget the ‘pull test’ to make sure you have good electrical connections! Pull the cap to make sure the innerspring in your twist on cap is ‘grabbing’ the copper wire. She did a good job! Looks great!
I'm definitely going to do this but just half the size. I love this!
Patrisha Luxe did you do it
I’ve been looking into vanities and can never find an affordable one in the style I want/like. Found both your DIY Tutorials while searching on google lol. That’s awesome, gonna do this for my daughter.
I was just about to spend 500 on a custom vanity mirror. U have saved my entire life. Thank you.
Girl I just finished mine it was hard worked but it was worth it thank you
Jasmine Gray 👌💖
please post pictures...I would love to see it. It is black Friday and I am shopping for a vanity but after seeing this I would love to make it in this in Black. A white vanity for me would stay dirty.
I have question on connecting the copper wires. How did you connect all three? Did you connect it all at the back?
Can you please help me with the wires?
I started out with the box concept in mind but I ended up just mounting the lights on a flat piece of plywood. Looks great. Wife is happy.
Now I see why they cost so much 😭😭

Very cute & skillful ! However when it got to the wire part the directions were fast and ever confusing 😓
Girl, I wanted to complain about so much while watching this, but I just can't! Good on you. What an amazing, truly DIY job! Well.Done.
Been watching this video since 2017, finally got my vanity finished today!
Congrats! I'm also trying to do this and am wondering where you got the white light bars from?
Ariel Audrey I got chrome lights from amazon for mine but you can get the white ones at Lowe’s, Home Depot or on amazon. The link says it’s not available but just search the name it will pop up.
I’m doing my this weekend ... Lowe’s sold out from the white light bars I had to get chrome :(
Cruz Bautista my chrome lights are lovely. I got mine from amazon
Can’t wait to see the final results 🤩

This is by far the best diy vanity mirror video I have watched! So excited to make this!!xxx
Anybody that thumbs downs this video is a hater because this video is AWESOME!

Bro this video was so amazing to watch a woman put a vanity mirror together from Scratch❤️❤️😍
Omg I love it. I wish I had someone to help me me make this. How did you get the mirror to stick to the desk? Did you nail it to the wall?
I just ordered my vanity lights from amazon & bought the bevelled edge mirror @ home depot ❤️ I’m so excited to build mine! My husband is helping me assemble! Thanks for the video girl! Better than spending $400+ on a hollywood mirror

Woooow!!! Great job, was the mirror standing by itself or was it leaning on the wall? Please answer thanks😘😘😘

The only thing that confused me was when you were talking about the wires being rigid and smooth. What does that mean?
veganratmama on an extension cord there's two connected cords, one has a completely smooth plastic wrapping around it while the other has ridges in the plastic wrapped around it
There are a lot of power cords that are rough on one side and smooth on the other. It's a way to tell the negative from the positive wire.
What an excellent looking vanity, great job!
Thank you for the video! I want to start building this for my girlfriend. One question. The piece of wood you have is 44.5” but the width of the mirror (36”) and the width of 2 light bars (4.5” each 9” total) wouldn’t the wood need to be 45”?? What am I missing ?
Just realized that it's because of the sides she attaches that make up the extra .5 inch.
What u guys used to glue the mirror???
Love this project. I do DIY's all the time but, I stay away from electrical stuff. You gave the confidence and know how to try this. Thanks
I know someone who charges $800 for the exact one u just made. Thanks a bunch, I almost bought one. 👍🏻
Wooooow!! I was going to pay $1,000 dollars for one of this, but now with your helpful video I’m going to tell my dad if he can create it for me. I love it 😍 yours it’s so beautiful 😍
So creative 😍 subbed ❤️
I am IMPRESSED! You got a new subscriber just from this video! I hung on until you started threading wires through then I was lost. lol
Does it just sit on the desk normally or did you have to attach something to make it stay ?
That's what I was thinking. I would use wall anchors just to make sure if I bumped the table the mirror wouldn't fall over.
Lady Dambrose okay because I don't want keep putting holes in my wall 😂
How did you keep your base up? Did you just place it on the desk or glue it down?
A woman doing handy work🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I love it ❤️💕
I was lost on how the vanity lights are all connected with one socket... didn't see the back
There's one extension cord that you leave the male (prong) end on, and when you strip the female end and wire connect them to the final vanity plate wiring, it's a complete circuit.

Daisy and rosiee the one on the right

I've always wanted a mirror like this but it's too much work I think I'll just buy it lol!

Girl that's way too much work 😩 I rather just spend $300 on a real vanity before I go crazy trying to make that 😂
