Historically, Netflix has been powered by senior talent. After joining the Experience Design organization, we were thoughtfully described as “emerging talent” -- acknowledging our level of experience, while also setting meaningful expectations for our capacity to contribute. Recently, there has been a shift in how Netflix actively seeks and fosters up-and-coming talent (both in age and/or experience). We’ll reflect on the unique aspects of Netflix’s culture that have enabled us to thrive, and that will be challenged as the company continues to grow. Through reflection and advice, we hope others are inspired to assess and activate the talent around them (no matter the age or experience).
