Whenever I've chosen the practical item over the item I loved, I've regretted it. My advice for Leah is to buy the dishes she loves. They express her personality and will make her home uniquely hers.
Better advice than I was thinking. Perfect.
Always go with the White. The plates with the dotted Swiss are awesome. You can use them for any occasion any holiday. All you have to do is change the candles and the napkins. I only use white dishes and white towels.!
I love the dotted swiss dishes. I think they are timeless.
The dotted Swiss is timeless and you'll always have a use for it.
My favorite type of video you, Leah, and Stewart going to the thrift store. That always gives me inspiration ideas for my home.
Enjoyed your thrifting trip, so glad you got the houses, they will be so neat decorated for Christmas. Has Leah ever tried acting? She reminds me of the kind of charm meg ryan had when she was young.
Love this!!! My husband and I spent lots of time in antique malls, thrift shops, weekend trips to Santa Barbara, great coffee shops, restaurants, etc. He always helped me garden. Thank you❤
I would raid Linda's stash of party dishes, borrow, and return clean with a thank you gift😂.
The white dotted swiss 💯
So versatile 🤩
Always white and you can layer with other colors 🌸
Does anyone else see “Ramona eyes” when Linda finds something she likes at the thrift store? It cracks me up!
😂 I can see it. Remember Andy's blindfold with Ramona eyes on WWHL?😂
I do remember that! I think we’ve all had Ramona eyes at some point! Too funny!
Leah shuld put that Anne Geddes baby photo book out at her baby shower!
Just what I was thinking!
Yesss......
Yesss......
Good catch - that would be great!
I thought the same thing
Should have got the Ann Geddes book to display at the Baby Shower!
I was thinking the same, that would have been perfect! The dotted swiss would have been in my basket.
Threw my daughters wedding in back yard last July… did the entire wedding with stuff from goodwill ! Went with all white plates etc ( didn’t have to match just be white )… and also got the champagne flutes and wine glasses there …
And serving platters etc and beverage urns ..
It turned out fantastic!
Had an area out of sight where we scrapped the plates into trash and then placed them in drain boards . When guests left we just hosed down the plates and utensils in the drain boards .
When all was done I let guests pick what they wanted to take home .. the rest went into a box and back to goodwill .
( bride and groom are big on saving environment)
Best wedding ever ..
I love this idea!
@@MyFocusVaries Ty!
White is practical……BUY what you love!!!!!!!!❤❤❤
Always, always, always!!!! Get what you LoVE! Oh that others be practical… You want a home that everyone remembers! The best compliments I’ve ever gotten or on the pieces that I’ve found here there and everywhere along the road. Get what you love Leah!!!
*Let others be practical…
Pro tip: if you’re considering an item in GW, put it in your basket while you ponder.
Just to let all gardeners everywhere know that Chelsea is on the BBC this week, lots of inspiration
This was FUN! My favorite piece was the hat box. It can be styled so many ways. Please do more of these thrift videos.
Leah go with whatever speaks to your heart and makes you happy. You can mix and match whatever you like. Loved the ones you loved. I have several collections of different styles. It gives you something to always hunt for. I've been collecting since I was 16 and 60 now.
She should get what she likes period. It was a lovely tea room that I went to and nothing matched and it was lovely. Each person had their own cup and saucer and plate and silver ware was the same way.So now I don't worry about matching anymore. ❤
Honestly Linda your brain is hysterically wonderful and I'm with you all the way
I would get the white to dress it up or down on a table for different occasions. 🌹Sending you all hugs prayers and a daily dose of encouragement.♥️🙏🏼👍🏼🌹ps OH my goodness…I would love those gold homes and trees….
Love the white dishes!
Loved being out and about with you guys.❤ some great ideas. Sending love to all. From Rosie O 🏴 x
Leah looking especially adorable, today ❤️❤️thanks for taking us along..
She always has such a sweet smile.
Dotted Swiss definitely! It is 100% more versatile for entertaining. She can add her love of designed dishes later on, and with enough pieces, it will work.
I think the wobbly practical shelf on wheels was a shelf to use in between a washer/dryer. Space saver to hold detergent and cleaning products, laundry items like an iron.
The horse planter I would outline in moss and fill with flowers for the baby shower.
I'm at a stage in life when I'm getting rid of things rather than acquiring but I enjoy the thrifting videos. I often spot things that are smilar to ones I have stashed away in the basement or closets and can unearth them and find a new use for them. I mostly, enjoy the suggestions for how to use the thrifted items.
Oh, white ... so true! I have also added clear plates and platters, Crystal mostly, as well.
Often, there are clear sets of plates at thrift stores to bulk up the white sets.
I did that for years until I found all matching pieces when I had more money!
I've found the best thing to buy for parties are salad plates. I always bought them in bulk white or clear for all occasions.
I now have a matching set of 30 in all white porcelain and 50 in my fine China, also white with platinum scroll rim.
The white all goes together. I use the fine China inside and out!
Dotted Swiss all day long. 😊
Love the thrifting videos. I loved the yellow dishes. So pretty for summer. 😊🇨🇦
Love Thrift shopping. You have a great store. Always fun stuff and reasonably priced. Thanks for taking us along !!
Linda,
I am so glad that you picked up the gold houses. You can do wonders in decorating them. I was calling out to you in the thrift shop. Take them. You did. You are a good thrifter with many ideas. Thanks for sharing...❤u pat
I loved the yellow dishes. They were so fresh for spring and would look beautiful with depression green glass.
So glad you purchased the houses and the horse!
Those red melamine plates work on Linda's outdoor dining area, and the blue pie plate could be a planter for succulents or whatever else. I liked the white dotted things because you can mix them with other things or use together. Also that clear serving plate with the design on the bottom is good for so many things!
Go with the shabby chic china, that made you the most excited. You can always get a collection of different china that you love and serve your guests with mix & match china,
Great finds! I really love the goldtone Christmas houses!! Leah should get the anne geddes baby book for a display for her baby shower! Everyone will love it!
I think the etched clear glass is a really good option. It will go with any season, any color, or any theme.
Fun outing. The gold village is going to be great. Torn between the white dotted dishes, which were perfect for anyoccasion, and Leah's vintage style. It is good to go with your personal style. We have a favorite resturant that uses all vintage, mismatched plates, tablecloths, vases, et all, and it is charming.
I love either the yellow / white or the dotted swiss which will go with a lot and go with accents.
In the wire horse basket… line it and put oat biscuits or oatmeal cookies 😀 have fun with your findings!
Because horses love oats😀
Loved the white dotted Swiss dishes. You can use them over and over again
White dishes are a must forever.
The Anne Geddes bookbaby book would be perfect to work with to theme the baby shower.
For my daughter's wedding we did all mix and match china and napkins. I was able to borrow the plates from a co-worker who had bought them all at Goodwill. The wedding was in the City Museum in St. Louis which is full of reused items. The tables were charming and fit their casual theme. The centerpieces pulled the color theme together. I love collecting fun china pattern plates. We have lots of plates for two people. I change them out seasonally. I can see why Leah is attracted to the china.
Your thrifting videos are my favorite and I just love Leah. She is so delightful. Goodwill stores near me are not nearly as good as yours.
I love those candle houses, those were my favorite ❤
Love some good thrifting! Love the inspiration photos. That’s a great idea!
I loved the dotted swiss white dishes - so trendy and beautiful. I would change accessory colors from time to time, but then again, its not Leah's vibe, so she should get the yellow ones, even if its only a small set for her and her roomate to have a fun lunch sometimes or use on their patio. Loved, love that barn bowl too and especially love the marble bowls. I'd take them for matches I think
Linda, remember your cleaning out the garage!
😂
HOW..can I adore someone so MUCH that I have never met??!!!
Another great video! How fun to be hosting a shower Leah. 😊
Huge store. Great stuff! Loved the gold houses. Would be fun to thrift with linda!
What a fun outing! Have a great day everyone.
The yellow plates!!! You could use those outside when your son comes to visit! Love to see your thrift hauls! I learn so much from you.
Always love virtual thrifting with you , Lea and Stewart ! Linda you always have such great ideas !
Wish I lived by that Goodwill for those yellow mid century type plates!
How fun! The horse could be used for paper napkins as well.
These houses are awesome I know u will make it so cute as always❤❤❤❤❤
Your Good Will store is so great!. Old pryex bowls is always a good find and buy. Small bowls for : nuts, condiments, etc. The etched pie plate was a good one. The tall single flower vases could be used for candles ( water, cranberries and float a candle). Have fun.
Your Goodwill is amazing. The ones around my way are NOT like this. Great finds, guys!
.....when I spotted Linda's new addition "Christmas Village + Tree", I envisioned tiny twinkle lights wrapped around each house and the tree that runs on batteries, tucked amongst fresh pine branches and pine cones....OR maybe just large tall 3x9 battery candles in each home.
I bet at 36:08, there was a collective "YEEEAAASSS!" when we saw the wire village in your cart!!! 👍
Not me, I saw it in the video she posted the day before so I already knew she’d bought it. 😃
Linda, thinking of you all this morning. Hope all is well and everyone is safe after the storms.
Fun video yesterday! I love the dotted Swiss and use mostly white as a blank palate to add accessories, however I am adding some blue and white lately (thrifted) as decor. But Leah should get the thing she loves. She'll never regret that decision.
I'm so glad you got the gold houses and tree. Versatile and lovely!
These thrifting videos are my favorites.
The white dotted swiss set! Everyone needs a white set to add in pops of color later to!
Had much fun. 😊 Thanks ❤❤❤
Decorate the houses for summer!
Love the yellow fretwork and the yellow and green flowers.
I would have bought the wire horse and village also. Too cute. Once again, I love coming along when you and Leah thrift. Thanks for sharing.
You have the best Goodwill that I have seen. Feeling a tiny bit jealous...😉
I loved the gold reindeer. They would have looked amazing with your gold houses and tree purchase. Also, loved the two small marble bowls Stuart bought.
Dotted swiss
Leah, I would have gotten the Anne Geddes book for the baby shower...use it for decor, maybe use it in the table placement, gift wrapping, or simply for the guests to do some browsing.
Get it!
Yes, go with white and you can use salad plates in different patterns for the accents.
Those little 'milk' bottles are Starbuck's Frappacino bottles. You can buy cartons of 4, or singles of a larger size at any wal-mart, Target or convenience store. I recycle the bottles and use for filtered water instead of buying plastic bottled water.
I love white! Everything you want to serve looks best on a white plate! It's timeless. Congratulations on the baby!🎉❤
I love the village! I can see that village wrapped up in fairy lights.
I love white dishes too but i have about nine sets now! I am addicted to them lke others collect shoes. I have a pewter set, A Friendly Village set, an Easter bunny set, flora china Pioneer woman floral and some of hers that are the plastic for summer, some creamy colored ones from the 1930s-50s, and my new Dollar Tree ones which are the new lemon ones with also light blue flowers and white flowers. They are gorgeous.
iam a retired teacher and the children loved down in the garden it is such a joyful book many laughs
The floral center piece idea is wonderful!
Thrifting is so much fun. Thanks for bringing us along. ❤
She should look for a tiered tray for serving appetizers or finger sandwiches, which can then be used as a seasonal display.
LOVED this episode ❤ i would have bought the swiss dot dishes - they are just so easy to style with. I would layer them with a patterned plate giving granny chic vibes. I loved Linda's idea for the egg stand and would absolutely have grabbed that. Leah's idea for patriotic cupcakes really sparked with me. I think gifting the hat box to a child with a doll and doll clothes would be so fun. And yes, Linda, I too love to collect dishes and love to have different pieces and patterns for different occasions. 😊
White is always a go to for entertaining it mixes and matches with everything, you can never go wrong with the white.❣️
Love the white dotted swiss! I have only used white dish ware for 25 years and it is timeless- goes with every season and table setting. It can be elegant, casual - whatever you want it to be according to your table linens and table decor.
Get the village and tree please!
Its too cute, you need them,
Luv ya, BARBIE
I love the hobnail white dishes. You can dress them up for a more formal setting. They would also look great for a casual BBQ. White is timeless.
Thanks for sharing making life fun keep up the good work guys and gals

So helpful that you share your thought process while thrifting. Good mentoring for all of us. Thank you.
I've really been into the "Out of Africa" British Colonial style lately. Been watching the movie on Netflix...such a timeless style
Fun as always...❤
Love your thrifting videos. Always get ideas.
Such fun Linda❣️🌷🌹🥰
Another fun video! Can't wait for the next.
What a fun video. I love the donkey and the village! Fun!
