There's something so ancient and omnious to the tone of the song but at the same time a sense of familiarity almost like you were always supposed to be there.
This is where the Chaos emeralds were leading sonic. Maybe not intentionally, perhaps not even desired. But the Starfall islands are the closest thing to a home the Chaos Emeralds have on this world. Their people were lost, and became the beloved chao we know and adore. Their home is gone, destroyed twice over. All that's left are these ruins, this...air of loss. Sonic knows chaos, better than anyone else... I'd argue even shadow isn't as close to chaos as sonic is. Of course, one day he'd come here, to the original source of the chaos emeralds. And he'd feel their Nistolga for days gone by.
I think I mentioned this before, but I love this kind of music in this series. I know Sonic is known for exciting action-packed music, but I absolutely love it when the series goes into solemn music. It's like Sonic is having some serious internal thoughts while running through the plains
I know some don't like it on Ouranos since it takes away its main theme. But I feel like it's a good way to make a "calm before the storm" feel before fighting the final Titan. The song is calming yet steadily more tense as it goes on. Plus its a nice way to tie back to the beginning of the game like its a full circle.
Ami yes I like it. (I prefer the theme of the starfall island more than that of Ouranus). It gives me the feeling that there is still hope or that the end of the road has come. Whereas the one with Ouranus gives me the vibe that there is still a chance to save the world. My only complaint is that the second theme song from Kronos is pretty much the same theme from Starfall Island (By the way the first three islands only have 7 musical themes, Reah has one and Ouranus 2 the original and the one from the Starfall Island)
Is it bad I'm already getting nostalgic about this game? Just the wait for this game's release felt so exciting. Those few months after we realized the game was actually gonna be good, I have never anticipated a game this much. I'm genuinely going to miss those days. Although I was massively impressed after I played it, I'm still going to dearly miss the days of me wondering what the story is gonna be, how it's gonna play and making up scenarios on what could happen on Kronos Island. This game really impacted my life, honestly. It's like a comfort zone for me. I'll never forget those months where I kept listening to this and Vandalize on repeat, barely being able to wait and see what this game had in store for us. Thank you, SEGA, and even more, thank you Sonic Team. You have changed my life for the better with all of your past games. I cannot begin to express my gratitude. It's been an honor getting to where we are now.
This is definitely one of my favorite tracks in the series now, and I'm thankful that Ohtani and co. were given the room to experiment with Sonic's OST beyond what Forces already did.
I listened to this on almost full in airpods volume in pitch blackness laying on my bed at 00:05 pm with only the moons pasty glare percing through my window blinds with the light varying due to the window being open and moving the blinds about, listened to it after a 1 hour workout doing arms and abs, and let me tell you a was blown away, after the such majestic melody slowly drifted away i stated clapping in the dark with no one around that it was that good, absolutely phenomenal
Well, if you cried with this song, I only pass you this video of this same game and listen to the background music of the first level and there it is deeper: th-cam.com/video/0W08Tqbz6YM/w-d-xo.html *(just go to minute **2:14** and then notice how sad and deep the music is, but dont worry, is not desperate either, it is simply quiet, although I cried because that day something very sad had happened to me (I lost a friend) and I I was listening to the sad and deep music and I let off steam crying)*
After finishing Sonic Frontiers, I can say for sure this was the most reflexive and serene Sonic game I've ever played. The environment, its story-telling and music really set the mood of the game for me. It was really pleasant to play.
I read an interview that said the game's script would be rewritten in the Japanese released to be more melancholic, but listening to this track makes me feel the western release will still have that feel even if its more low key in it.
@@Killumi_ Ken Penders wrote the script apparently, They said in their own words that it was being rewritten in Japans release. Could have just been a translation error though.
@@Killumi_ Actually, similar to Lost World, the story was originally written in English! Izuka didn’t want an exact translation as some parts of the story’s meaning would get lost in translation. this version of the song doesn't seem to be in the game from the sounds of it. doesn't have those violins, booming bass and electronic hum. (more prevalent during the beginning and ending of the track) unless that's just me? if this is in the game and someone can point me in the right direction, that would be nice.
