    Mucho gracias, Francisco. You turn what is a PITA for most (Stereo Head Install), into a "Hell, yeah! I GOT this" for many. Best of all, you do it with humor, great music, and a keen insight. At the end of the day, you deliver exactly what we're all seeking -- positive results! Keep up the good work brother.

    Frank DAIII:
    Most helpful video, very timely... cool, comprehensive, professional. Had the same, old Nissan audio head...it was was 'kaput'! I ran into the same issue with the coax 5.25" speakers in the doors for my B16 Sentra. However, your advice to use the old tweeter frames as templates worked just fine for the 6 x9 mounting in the doors. I just cut hardboard 6x9 blank(s), added damping for the edges. The 5.25" coax cleared on the 6x9 mounting... 'no problem'. Cheaper. Many, thanks. How did the Sentra turn out? Surely, your student-grad school candidate enjoys-appreciates your work & BST!

    Thank you so much for detailed tutorial Frank. What were the dip switch settings on the crux unit? I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra base model with a AVH-2500NEX and the steering wheel buttons are mixed up. I followed the install guide that was included with the crux unit for the dip switches which are off,off,on,on,off,off,off,off. I didn’t install BT bypass yet. I am not sure if it helps or disables stearing wheel controls.

    • @frankdaiii6403
      @frankdaiii6403  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the BT cancel DOES affect the controls, but i can't remember the dip switches. I DO remember the controls didn't work until I plugged in the little "aux" plug into the "RC" slot in the back. The volume buttons should work normal (up and down), but I believe the source and track functions are a bit jumbled. I'm not sure if the 2012 steering wheel controls are the same as my 08 model. you can also try the crux tech line that should be on the package.

      @@frankdaiii6403 thank you so much for the reply. I did plug the "aux" plug in and it works "per say" but like you mentioned the functions are a bit jumbled. This model of Sentra does not have talk feature on the steering wheel. Only has channel switching, mode, power and vol up and down. I changed the toggle switch on the inside of the crux unit from 5v5 to 3v3 but that did not fix issue. Guess Ill have to call it in. Thank you again for the video and assitance.

    • @frankdaiii6403
      @frankdaiii6403  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Off the top of my head I'd say, "No." The display (trip screen) and bluetooth module are both controlled by the original "stereo" which also receives signals from the vehicle ECM. In fact, what we call the "head unit" is referred to as the "Audio Unit" in the literature; that's because it's actually a stereo/signal processor. I think the advent of aftermarket "stereos" with that capability could be possible, but most new/er vehicles have the "trip" information integrated on the instrument cluster now so who knows.

      Buenos dias! Tengo que presumir una cosa. Que el vehiculo es totalmente "stock". Sin que has cambiado luces nuevas (de diferente marca del original), sistema de encendido, alternador, radio o las vocinas. si asi es, lo unico que puede ser es la conexion de tierra del radio esta suelto. Hay que checar en donde esta ubicado y verificar que esta apretado. Tambien si puedes, verifica que todas las conexiones del radio estan bien, y checa que el alambre de la antena no esta dañada. Ademas de eso, tiene que ser algo interno en el radio. Un abrazo y buena suerte!

    Hey Frank. Have you ever installed a subwoofer in a Sentra? I am thinking about one subwoofer with 1000watts of powered, if possible. Any thoughts? Crutchfield if you know it has the abilities to find what size subwoofer fits in their, but it came up with nothing which I think might be a mistake.

    • @frankdaiii6403
      @frankdaiii6403  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Crutchfield will give you all the OEM specs for speakers so technically the Sentra has no "factory" location for a sub; however, I would build an enclosure in the trunk across the entire back seat and mount the amp to that. 1000 wtt is a lot of power so I would make sure your mids and highs are properly balanced.

    • @keegancan
      @keegancan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @frankdaiii6403
      @frankdaiii6403  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@keegancan It depends on your taste of listening. Are you looking to have Rob Bass shake your teeth, or do you want to feel the tight punch of AC/DC? (yeah, I'm old). I have an upgraded OEM box in my F250 pushing 200wtt through a kicker 8" because I have hitches, tow balls, straps, cables and 3 days of food and water behind my seats and i just want some bass I can feel in the cab. It also depends on what size you were thinking about for the sub, which of course will affect the size of your enclosure AND the amount of power you will need. I would think 500 wt would be way more than enough, but I'd want to push around 80 -100 to the mid and highs for balance. OHHHH, don't forget about the charging system! a little research or a reputable shop for consultation is what I recommend.
