  • It's been 11 months since I fired up the beautiful NS400R, so time to blow out the cobwebs and smell some 2 stroke smoke.
    I do a walk around , overview, startup and a few rev's from the 400cc 2 stroke triple.

    It was always a beautiful bike and the only reason I sold mine was because of the scarcity of parts. I do believe that this bike will continue to increase in value and overtake the RZ500. The RG500 Gamma was surely the best performer of the 3 and because of that and its heritage in racing, will always command the most money. I've ridden all 3 and the lack of power is evident in the NS400 but it was such a great bike to ride with a very nice chassis and and adequate brakes. The HRC colours looked amazing and although we didn't get the Rothman's livery in Canada, I would have still taken the HRC colours if the choice was available at the time.

      Yea , truly a lovely bike. I had an RZ500 (never rode the RG500). But I prefer the NS to the RZ. I enough spares to keep this one alive for a long time, and I have Rothmans bodywork for it too. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Nice bike for sure. I love the 2 strokes and 3 cylinder engines are a favourite. I had a Kawasaki H-1. Fun to own and ride!

    Simply gorgeous. I love your attention to detail and passion. Unobtanium in the USA when new, but I've always been a fan since they came out. Unbelievably cool when Fast Freddie was world champ!

      I love another one in Rothmans colours, but finding them at affordable prices now is pretty much impossible.

      Thanks David. I’d love to find another so I can put my Rothmans bodywork on it, but truth is 1) they’re so hard to find now and 2) when you do, they cost too much.

      Congrats on the NS250 ! Yea parts for some of the old 2 strokes are getting hard to find. I’m sure there is someplace you can get pistons though, it’s the electrical stuff that’s unobtanium. Hopefully the CDI Box on your 250 is good, should be a fun project !!!

      Very nice! The RZV500!is a rare bike. I had an RZ500 and foolishly sold it. Had a RGV250 vj21 model J foolishly sold it, and RG250 WalterWolf foolishly sold it and a RZ350….yep. Foolishly sold it.
      Love to find another NS400R, I’d like it in the Rothmans livery, but hard to find and so expensive now. Thanks for watching!!

    I also have an rs250 aprilia, i stupidly relied on the oil light to let me know when to top it up.... 2500 bucks later

      yikes, that a shame. My oil tank is full, it was just the sending unit acting up

  • @AZ0986688
    @AZ0986688 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I loooved the sound of it!! It was stolen by some Idiot who didn't know what the oil lamp on a two stroke meant...the police man told it was one of the worst crashes he'd seen! He had made it pretty far, so he must have been going fast..and then it seized from empty twostoke tank, of course. Killed instantly ..I loved that bike, but of course I would not want anybody to die on it!!:(

      The prices are insane for all the strokers now, though..I couldn't get one of these for 20 000euros, even..RG500 even worse price, the one "achieavbly prized bike in his collection,was an Aprilia 250(tuned from bottom up(12500-13000euros...)

    • @true-moto-resto
      @true-moto-resto  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, the 2 stoke prices are off the charts !, I used to have an RZ500, RZ350, RG250 and an RGV250...should have kept them

PS, your text in the video is tough to read since as it zooms, it changes lines and rearranges the words. I've never succeeded in reading them in your vids lol.

      @@true-moto-resto I bought one of these in Australia I think in 87? Looked and sounded great. Mine was the Rothman's replica. That said even back then it was no match for any 1,000cc sportbike. Not even close. I sold it because it was incredibly gutless as old CBR1000F's would blow by me even passing 130KMH and they'd go all the way to 270KMH. The little NS400R was all over by 200KMH. But worth a fortune now of course. Cheers.

    • @true-moto-resto
      @true-moto-resto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theaustralianconundrum thanks for your comment. Yea , I think Honda was optimistic stating the NS has HP in the low 70’s . They were in the mid 50’s for horse power I think. And typical 2 stroke, gutless at lower rpm and screamer above 7000.
      Lots of fun on the twisty roads, they handle very well and can hold their own with the big boys on those roads, but cannot compete in outright grunt and top speed.
      No match for a 1000cc super sport
