Great tutorial, very useful. 1 hint - you can skip unbolting the gas struts and just dislodge the head from the joint by firmly hitting it with your palm outwards. When putting back together it goes even easier - with a gentle tap.
Really good, would it be same procedure for a Honda Jazz 59? Hoping they also have the same tailgate so I wont have to just search for a 59tailgate. Car newbie here.
Was the sealent on the original hinge added by someone else?, as i have a water leak coming in from the bolts under the hinges, i have added sealent around the hinges but it still gets through somehow
Haven't done this job on a Ford Focus myself but I'd imagine it'd be quite similar. Just the routing and unplugging of the electrical connectors and rear screen washer might be different.
I think it took 2-3 hours, but I'd say that was mostly because I was making the video. I reckon videoing a job can easily double the time it would take if I wasn't filming. I wouldn't take as much trim off if I was doing it again - e.g. having done the job, I wouldn't bother removing the seatbelt or upper light grey trim panel if I was doing it again.
Literally my version. USA Fit, but 2010. Mine is severely dented, and I want to order a new one. Love this car.

2:49 ¿¿to remove just pull out??
Would this be a similar excercise for a ford focus?

Hi Andrew, hoe long did it take you to do this?
