  • Marinduque is a heart-shape island located in the MIMAROPA region. The island lies between Tayabas Bay to the north and Sibuyan Sea to the south. It is west of the Bondoc Peninsula of Quezon province; east of Mindoro Island; and north of the island province of Romblon. The province is home to one of the oldest religious festivals of the country: the Moriones Festival celebrated annually every Holy Week.
The whole trip took 10 hours and cost me less than 500 pesos one way; student bus fare 182 pesos and boat fare 221 pesos. It might be a long trip but you'll enjoy the beautiful view as you travel.
How to get to the Island:
Take a Jac Liner or Jam Liner Bus going to Lucena-Dalahican (Quezon Province). There are two bus terminal located in Buendia, Pasay City and Kamias, Quezon City. You can check out their website for the schedules. The trip will take for about 3-5 hours depending on the traffic. Upon reaching the port of Dalahican you will transfer to a boat (Montenegro Lines or Starhorse Shipping Lines) going to the island, it's another 3 hour trip.
