    This video brings back lots of memories for me. I grew up fishing the severn river. I know exactly where you are. The severn is a great place to catch many different species. After watching this video I have a desire to get back out and hit some of my old favorite spots. Thanks for sharing your trip.

      @@aleccooper9350 You can catch pickerel just about anywhere from mid-river up. The key is the tide and the presentation. high to outgoing is best and the colder the water the slower you need to fish. I like a live minnow when the water gets real cold. As you can see from the video a variety of baits will work. Pickerel are easy to catch. The river has other fish as well. Yellow perch love this time of year. Same baits work.

    The lake that I fish at there are a few spots where the pickerel are 'low hanging fruit' with a floater bait. I learned that the frog that I have, they just can't get a good chomp on it in the grass. What I learned from the frog is that a jitterbug or a torpedo cast to the edge of the grass is money. Cheers from New Brunswick Canada.

    I caught my first little chain pickerel yesterday and had no clue what the hell it was I was catching blue gill and this little guy was on the end of my line it was probably 3-4 inches long just a baby. I took and picture and did some googling and came across this fish and discovered what it was and was called. I even did some reading on it when they lay eggs and what they eat and when to most likely catch them was very interesting.

    My sons and I love our mepps spinner I just caught my first pickerel if I spelled that right this weekend. I couldn’t believe it. At first I thought it was a pike. But where I’ve never caught either. It was pouring rain and I took my Niece and nephew fission and my nephew and I both caught one we couldn’t believe the teeth

    This video is "interesting". First, all of the pickerel are tiny. Second, the conclusion is every bait can work for pickerel (which is true- they eat everyting, but then why do we need a video about it) Third, who wears waders in a boat? Fourth, that's a lot of expensive equipment to catch a bunch of throw-back baby pickerel. Fifth- I've caught many pickerel and have never used any kind of fish grips.

    Can anyone else see that his catch is not authentic? One minute he’s close to the dock and near shore when he cast but pulling up the same fish in middle of the river.

    • @kokoyhawaii
      @kokoyhawaii 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not authentic? Come on man, he's filming an instructional video, not purporting to catch something with a single cast. There were no attempts to hide that they edited the video. He certainly does catch a fish on the jig head w white paddle tail, what more do you want?
