To be honest with u mate, it hasn’t changed much in the last 10 years. I think the area has got better. Less trouble. Thanks for the video
@rizmahd I was surprised that Green St was still busy even with many of the shops closing. Nice to see the businesses doing well

Mini cab days. Ideal cars by east ham town hall. In my MK4 zodiac. Sawn off protection in the bag behind the spare wheel in front of engine .
The church by the Bolyn, is St Edawards R.C. St Edawards R.C primary school is just behind it by the football grand.
Then the new flats next to the church, was St Johns R.C secondary school, my old school- use to watch the ⚽️🥅🏟footballers practicefrom the class room 😂😂
Memories of the old hammers ground days, I used live in Forest Game, my Dad used to work at Upton Park as book binder, company moved n still going 😊

surprised you did not mention the Persy Ingles that used to be at corner of queen's market (a halaal meat shop now)

Good video good to see the how it’s changed I worked off the station in Rumbelows they were kinda good days
@CreativityEvents23 mate Rumblelows and Radio Rentals, what a concept of a business. Remember it well. They were everywhere. When I tried explaining it to the kids they wouldn't believe it. They don't know how easy they got it 🤣.
See the old bus garage still standing. Then it was raelbrook shirt factory.
Shame nothing was listed on the Boylen Ground. I know plenty West Ham fans who miss the place and cannot accept London Stadium. I felt that when leaving Highbury for Emirates Stadium. Although 2 parts of the stadium are preserved and converted into luxury properties
@rajnirvan3336 Yep me 2, never seen WHU play at the new stadium.
I used to live there on this street around 12 years ago. The street was always busy. Pakistanis and Bangladeshis used to look at me with hate because I was non Muslim ☹️ Never thought they would behave like that even in London.
@khushboosharma3813 I'll so sorry u were made to like that, its due to ignorance. We are only around for a short time and we can't live together. Hope u move was successful
Nothing new they do this behaviour everywhere in London think they own the place Pakistanis and Indians.

Happy days back in the late 60s, early 70s walking to and from Upton Park tube to go and see West Ham. Looks very different now. Enjoyed your Barking and Ilford videos, used to live in off Clayhall AVE, Barkingside. Can you show the park side of Barking and Upney Lane to Upney?
@johngeorge3619 Many thanks. Yes definitely happy days back then. Don't get me wrong it was tough but life was so much simpler. We had different challenges. Clayhall and Gants Hill know it really well. Definitely wanted to visit Barking Park again but time may be a factor as I wish to be travelling again.
@@Roamingree travel broadens the mind .. spend the kids inheritance. I never got anything,everything I have I worked for . Dirty thankless work .fixing trucks .. ford Dagenham. Been in Spain 39 yrs.. left UK because 19% interest . I was killing myself . Hate to say it now but was well involved in labour party .. not looney left though ..always remember at a big meeting think it was Camden town ,,hold a door open for two girls don't laugh I got a abused for being a male chauvinism pig. . Now a lot of them you cannot even call a girl now .. Best thing about Spain is the guardia civil ,you feel safe . Yes similar things go on here I admit especially with these boat people . But the guardia soon sort them out. Man beats wife ,Guardia called. Man locked up and falls down steps going to cell . Yes as I said similar things go on all over Europe natives or immigrants . Sad modern times ..
@colinstickland3130 Mate I remember those days, it was the most worrying time of my life. U definitely made the right move, I seen the UK only going down in the last 20 years. Everyone is entitled and told they can do and be whatever they want. I don't get it. Best thing we can do enjoy life, travel more and have no regrets.
Someone I vaguely knew who lived opposite the old police station bought a rifle, barricaded himself in his room and held the station under siege. No one was hurt and he had a mental breakdown due to a serious motorcycle accident. That would have been around 1970.
@ohyeah2816 Wow now that's a memorable story. We use to get told stories like these, all the time but now everyone's glued to their phones no one has time for telling or reading stories. I use to make a point to tell my son my stories but my grandkids want the iPad. Drives me mad 😡
@@Roamingreewe’ve always lost little local families stories because they’re not that important in the great scheme of things. I’m the last one of my family line and it’s going to be lost like the night the Manor Park Jewish cemetery was fire bombed by the Luftwaffe and my dad and others put the fire out. But yeah, all lost to time.
@ohyeah2816 Ain't that the truth. I know communities change, families move in and out and priorities change. Like you I'm also the youngest in my family of seven. My brothers are now telling me stories of their childhood in London, amazing but will soon be gone sadly. Great story of the bombing btw. THANKS
Ree, there are four betting shops, you only mention one 😅, the one pound fish man used work in queen’s market. Also you missed out 2 other closedown pubs 😮.
@dardriver3623 once I was editing the video, I noticed the PP and Ladbrokes, plus I remember things I want to say but once the camera's running I forget. Talking too much, no brain engagement 🤣🤣🤣. I wanted to mention Mr Nazir (£1 fish) but forgot once I got to the market. Should follow a script but I do everything off the cuff. Brilliant comment made me chuckle THANKS

Its got definitely worse😢 very run down. Like everything in Newham apart from Stratford poshed up for the Olympics
@yet8117 I was really surprised how dirty East Ham was looking but that may be due to the roadworks. Stratford has definitely improved due to the Olympics as you rightly point out.

Brilliant video, there use to be two cinems, one on the Barking Rd - Odean then one down the middle of Green Street - ABC, Went to watch Grease there😊 lived it, then got 🏡home, got the beatingof my life😢,my parents classifed it as a sex film😂😂😂,I was 15.😊😊😊Im laughing😂now 😀but social services would of taking my parents to prison for abuse,😮how life has changed, not just the buildings or the area😊.love love,love.keep up the good work
@yet8117 Ahahahaha brilliant comment mate, I wasn't allowed to watch Grease 😂. Quite right never heard of social services. Life was so much simpler, didn't have alot but didn't have a care in the world.
Oh my old manor didn't know the police station closed where in Newham has it moved or is in Beggarsford?
@@T.Channel Ahahahaha, the patrol teams have moved to the smaller stations around Newham. But the Met have been closing them down aswell so space is going to be difficult.
@@Roamingree thank you, also police do checks and searches at the train stations now for people and gangs carrying weapons and drugs.
@T.Channel yes they do. Later in the day there was a large police drugs dog and search arch operation for knives and machete's. Scary

@Wayne-fn1sw yes very true. Most of my mates r retiring, moving to Suffolk, Norfolk or Spain. We have all had enough of London.

@ZubairGhanchi-wp2um Ahahahaha I'm just loveable and get along with everyone. I was at the Robinson Rally, a couple of weeks ago and havd covered various marches, thank Allah I've never had any real issues.
