Purpose of Sediment Filter is to remove visible impurities in water like mud and use of carbon filter is to remove impurities and Bad odours in water. If drinking water in you're are is clean with high tds then you can use Membrane. But I'll recommend Sediment Filter as pre Filter at least spun filter. These filters are not costly.
I need to remove minerals from water before going through an ultrasonic cool mist(fog machine). Can I just connect the RO filter to my waterline and call it good? My problem is the cool mist spins a lot of dry white powder (minerals) into the air and it sticks to the plants.

Yes, ur right. Solenoid Valve not used in this project as there is no storage tank required / used. It can be use if you want to add storage tank. Float Value also can be use. Which controls water level.

Yes of course! It's good if it is above 50. We can add TDD controller to RO Membrane to adjust TDS w.r.t. input TDS.

No use of UF after RO membrane. And this size of UF is of no use in any possible situation. When you use UF you dont use RO membrane.
