Lovely to see Pip and knowing Crime time with her is coming back. Thank you for taking us along on your lovely Christmas Day Simon. Always enjoy seeing how others celebrate the holidays. That West Kirby walk😍 I enjoy the Sunday vlogs too as well and whenever you post one. You always give me a chuckle and Im looking forward to the prompt videos now from you and your mom. Might be a repeat ask, but I’d love to see you and Chris in a video together sometime in the new year…really enjoyed last years of books you chose for each other, ? I think before you both went on holiday. Have a great weekend!🎄😊
I always love your shopping vlogs, so here for those any time. I live in the southern hemisphere where Christmas never feels like Christmas so love UK Christmas content.
We had a fox come visit us on Christmas Eve as well! One of our cats made the strangest noise, we went to the window and there it was on the porch, looking up at us. Neither it nor our cat seemed worried at all, just curious. So amazing knowing all these different creatures live among us. Anyway, It was so fun being immersed in your life and your holiday joy! (Wonderful editing, as always.) And I actually love your new cut, very stylish, and shorter means you can go longer before your next cut…😊
Four delightful cats and a fox… and yet I was contemplating adopting a dog yesterday. We were at Chris’ cousins yesterday and she fosters dogs and we met the most delightful 6 year old cocker spaniel.
I had to work on Boxing Day and this was exactly what I needed at the end of the day! Your Christmas looks so lovely. Thanks for bringing us along. I am mad for your cats (and I say this as a dog person) and one day want to go shopping in Liverpool as you make it look pretty fab. You know I will always vote for Sunday vlogs but honestly I will watch them on whatever tell you post them. Enjoy the betwixtmas time!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it Cindy and you had a treat (feels very odd calling myself that) at the end of the working day. Liverpool is even nicer to shop in when it’s not Christmas and heaving with people hahaha.
Book piles are my heaven. Your "mess" is my majesty. 😊 Also, I'm just going to be frank here and rip the bandaid right off. As much as I love you... I love Earl even more. There... I've said it. Flat cat bellies are my jam. 🤭
I wish I could tell you what it was. It was on Epidemic Sounds and I can’t find the file now but you’d have to be an epidemic sounds member to get it. Sorry.
Merry Christmas! My daughter suggested Earls government name should be Earl the Grey. I just love him so much. Four Squares was very good. I hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
Hahaha. That is where Earl came from, how could he be names anything else lol. Though at the vet he is… Earl Bergamot Burton Savidge. What a title. Lol.
@ Me too! It had to be on the 40th anniversary! Did you see the documentary that was on BBC2, Last Christmas Unwrapped? Bring your tissues. It’s beautiful!
Ooh I’ll give Shelf Talk some thought, my only worry is that it might make people think I’m just sat by my shelves talking… which is what I do in most of my other videos, holding up the occasional book. Lol. Actually I should check if there’s a channel called Shelf Talk.
Happy Holidays, Simon! I wish you could send some of those 5 o´clock 😳awakenings my way for early January...I'm a creature of the night and for 30 years my work hours have made it impossible for me to roll out of bed before lunch, but I'm having knee surgery soon and will have to get up at 5 in the morning to scrub myself and get a cab to the clinic! At the moment I'm leaning towards just never going to bed before the op... No pressure, but I'm going to need lots of entertaining videos from my TH-cam favourites during roughly two weeks following that ordeal! 😉🤣 Actually, I'll be able to use the time to get through some lovely books that you've recommended during 2024, so thanks for that! Wishing you a wonderful 2025.
I’d happy send you my 5am wake ups as I go to sleep till about 12 and I am done with these 5 hour nights. Actually I’ve made it to 6 this morning so maybe change is coming. Definitely a time ahead for some of the books you’ve most been wanting to read for you next month. Good luck with the surgery. Hope it goes well and you recover speedily.
Simon--your wrapping life would be made much quicker/easier if you would use gift BAGS! I hardly wrap with a roll of paper and tape anymore--not many people like doing it that way since the advent of gift bags. Drop the gift in a bag, cover with a sheet of tissue paper and you're done! I LOVED seeing the cats and the fox! The current state of the library was a hoot!
I’ve never liked a gift bag. We all wrap in the family as you may have spotted by the skimming of the tree. No matter the size or shape. None of us love wrapping but we like the fact we’ve made an effort. It’s all part of the Savidge Christmas ritual. Lol. Plus, and no disrespect to anyone who’s given me a gift in a bag… a huge part to the fun of getting presents is the unwrapping hahaha.
Happy Boxing Day! Next year I hope we'll get a vlog snippet of all of the cats together. Since I just retired, I'm trying to catch up with your videos.
Merry Christmas Simon ( and Chris );🌲Christmas day, after we left the house , the doorbell camera went off on our phone and a child we'd never seen before was ringing the bell-. Not going to lie - 24 hours+ , I am still wondering who he is and why he rang the bell. Do you have any "Must" books shops in London and / or Southhampton? Husband booked Cruise in May (50th birthday ) and I may just get a day or two at the end of the trip before we fly home to the states. 🌵
Ooh what a mystery. I couldn’t cope with a doorbell camera for this very reason. Would add too many mysteries to my life… though there is a very handsome new postman who is easy on the eye. Hahaha. Bookshops in Southampton, blimey I have never been shopping in Southampton. In fact I don’t think I’ve been to Southampton since I was about 19/20. So just a few years. Ok, a few decades. Lol. London though, Foyles, Daunts, The Book Bar, London Review, Gays the Word. The usual I guess, I’m sure you had those on your list already.

What a joy to watch
Awww thank you so much!

Glad you enjoyed the shopping elements. Hahaha. I’m so thrilled with that bag. I hope you had as Christmassy a Christmas as possible.
Looks like you all had a splendid Christmas Simon. Earl is a super cute scene stealer. Happy New year to you and Chris ❤🎉🎉🎉
And a very happy new year to you and yours!!

How festive and fabulous you had a fox on Christmas Eve too. What are the chances, what a treat 🦊
Lovely! And that Earl! 😂 He is entirely TOO MUCH 🥰 The fox is killing me as well. Just gorgeous!

@@SavidgeReads 😆 Nah, he only wins by the smallest of margins. You are still tip top. 😊
Lovely vlog sharing your Christmas with us. 💙
Hope you had a lovely Christmas.
Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing 🎉 🎉
A pleasure. Hope you had a lovely Christmas and here’s to 2025!
Great video, thanks for sharing. I’m wondering what the piece of music was you played during the section of your walk? It was beautiful.

Fabulous vlog! And I adore your Last Christmas tee!
I’m thrilled that Wham! are number one here again for Christmas. Feels so right.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Simon and Chris and your four fab cats!! ❤️🙂🙂❤️😺❤️😺❤️😺❤️😺❤️🎄🎁🎉🎄🎁🎉
Hope you had a lovely Christmas and here’s to 2025!
Looooove this vlog!
Thank you. Thrilled you enjoyed it.
Love the Wham! T-shirt.
Me too. My favourite Christmas song ever. Love that it’s number one here!
This vlog made my day! For a reading vlog name, maybe "Shelf Talk" as a play on the phrase 'self talk'. Happy Betwixtmas!

Sunday sum-up? I’d love a weekend blog still, great company when getting chores done for the working week ahead. Have a great new year.
You’re not the only person who I know that likes a Sunday video for while they are doing house stuff.

Love your vlogs Simon. ♥️
Thank you!
Thank you!!!!
You need to set up an orange traffic cone on the landing so that you don't trip over Earl.😆
Hahaha. Or plug in those low landing lights in the night.
Happy Boxing Day! Next year I hope we'll get a vlog snippet of all of the cats together. Since I just retired, I'm trying to catch up with your videos.
Oh you’ll have plenty of time for videos, don’t run out. Hahaha. That said mum keeps saying she’s never been busier than since she retired last year.
@@SavidgeReads My brother said the same thing! So far only fun stuff to keep me busy.

Now Simon, are you on the good loving daily tok? 😂
If you publish wrap-up videos on Monday, you can call it “Monday Meltdown.”😁
Hahaha. Oh please don’t wish 52 meltdowns on me for 2025, that’s not the vibe I’m going for 😉
@@SavidgeReads I'll give myself a good slap for even suggesting it.😁
Was Earl a hit with your in laws?
They liked him yes. They still think 4 cats is too many. Hahaha.
