You know, coming from someone who just bought her first skateboard and bought pads and helmets, it makes me sad that I read all these skate comments who rag on other's choices about what they wear when they skate.
Josh--I respect you for the fact that you stick to what you believe in regardless of what you're doing. Life is full of random mishaps and it doesn't matter what you do, you can still do some serious damage to your skull and brain. I'm glad that someone like you does wear their helmet and you don't give crap to people who don't. Kudos to you.

Giovannii Gomes it's amazing so many people jump to defend this guy. how about you look at the statistics on the average person who's skated more than five years who wears a helmet on flat ground, or one period. the statistics are going to be lower than 1 percent. im not sayin you cant get hurt. but being that experienced you'd honestly be more likely to get bit by a shark surfing.

Rolling on a 2 by 4 with wheels , you can slip and crack your skull , flat ground or no flat ground.
Reprovo a Couldn't agree more. People always say, "WHAT? You're wearing a helmet skating that?!". But it's not like I'm going to take my helmet on and off during the session depending on the difficulty of the tricks I'm trying.

my friend thought that there wasn't a point wearing a helmet on flat but then he slipped back off his board hit his head and wasn't aloud to skate for 3 years so if he wants to wear a helmet there's a perfectly good reason for it. but its completely optional

I have been knocked out twice skateboarding without a helmet (10 stitches in my head the second time) so I wear one now. Personally, I don't feel the need to wear a helmet doing flatground tricks but Josh is a good skateboarder and the fact that he wears a helmet always should not be looked upon negatively.
I think josh and Sam should do more videos together their both amazing skateboarders.

in my opinion it's over-cautious, and it's lame as fuck. I mean it's okay to wear a helmet when you are actually doing crazy shit, or dangerous stuff. But Josh doesn't do any of that. People usually wear helmets if they skate a huge vert ramp, or a megaramp or something like that. Because of the speed and height of the airs, you can actually hit your head pretty bad. Josh only skates street and skatepark, and small sets of stairs even on the streets too. Not to mention a helmet is really unconfortable. But it's his decision, I don't give a fuck, he does whatever he wants. I just think it's unneccesary and lame

No one does no comply's properly anymore. You don't just flip the board around,let it land then jump on it. It's supposed to be one fluid motion - hit the tail and jump, then catch the board with your feet in the air and land it. Check out Ray Barbee's part in Public Domain and get less dumb.
