that high note on "HOPE RIDES ALOOOOOOONE" is insane
I love the first lyric so much,
"I've seen your city... *A THOUSAND TIMES!"*
Like he's finally exploded into clear determination.
I wish the original album had that same quiet start and then explosive voice raise.
I'm more into exhausted original
Man, seen them live 4 times and I still get chills at that high note.
When I saw them in TO people were legit crying during this song.
Justin Cox i would cry if i saw this live too so
Oh, the London show was SO good, hope they come across the pond again
This man can put more passion into the story of a fictional robot every time I hear him be it in official videos or recorded off 10 year cell phones than most other artists can do belting out stories from their actual lives. But also wehn Act III?
Right?
"Act 3 will come out exactly one year after the last person who asks when Act 3 is coming out."
@@Ghost_of_Avalon god dammit
@The Coward Liberius Reset the clock!
@@Ghost_of_Avalon Noooo 😭
I was at a Between the Buried and Me show just shooting the shit with a dude. We got into covers and i told him The Protomen did the best Queen covers.
He thanked me. Turns out he was the Protomen's drummer
Love Panther's voice so much. Hope one day I can see the Protomen live
WE. ARE. YOUR. HOPE.
WE. KEEP. YOU. SAFE.
WE. ARE. IN. CONTROL.
Kinda relevant now, huh
@@wcarterlewis now or never.
"There are -no- still heroes left in man."
Logasm yeah that rings ever true in these idiotocracy times
I've seen many bands, still The Protomen are one of the best live performances of all time.
If only Megaman knew his brother was right there, in the front row of his concert.
life imitates fanfiction
To be fair, the light is behind him and that visor looks pretty dark
Said brother be like "YEAHHH! AVENGE YOUR BROTHER, RANDOM KID! FINISH THE FIGHT OF PROTOMAN!! .....Damn, whoever this 'Protoman' guy was, I hope the kid avenges him and recover his defaced grave. It sounds like he was a nice guy."
Somehow I'd lived my life until now not having heard these guys. A fan within the first minute. 2:24 my jaw was on the floor. Then 2:43 came and I found a new religion.
The church of the Panther grows by the hour
@@lloyddodson8487 you are not kidding..mind blown.
It gives me chills EVERY. DAMN. TIME.
It’s amazing how far they’ve come since Act 1. You can tell they’ve improved just by listening to this.
Which is amazing since act 1 was near perfect
I am so thankful that their cover of "In the Air Tonight" was in Cobra Kai... it makes it so much easier to talk about this band with people... because that is all I want to do for the rest of the week whenever I listen to the Protomen.
Do yourself a favor before watching this.
Turn your volume to 100%.
You're welcome.
thx my bro
Hearing this version makes me desperately want a rerecorded version of Act 1 as unlikely as that is
Nothing gives me second wind quite like this song.
The Pillows and The Protomen are the only modern bands that can make me feel nostalgia.
The Pillows wow great choice partner
Holy shit you're right
Two of my favorite bands and I never made such a connection
Both of which are my favorite bands together with Gorillaz and TWRP. Anazing choice bro
Hey guys I found the FLCL fan
Protomen and GUNSHIP would ROCKKKK a collaborator together
Throw in The Midnight and it's the perfect tour
Well, great.
Now I have to go back and listen to This City Made Us for another week straight.
So what's the problem?
Hold Back The Night for me. Good thing TH-cam just made it my next video.
@@eckitronix No Act 3 yet.
@@ShoopDaWoosh I suppose you're right. I wouldn't worry too much. There's still work to do, but even now there is hope for man.
Did the song "GAVE YOU LIFE"?
"Hope rides alone" gets me every time
Mega Man fans are so fucking lucky that a truly great rock band were also fans.
Ikr? We actually have two amazing bands!
Amazing voice
Dude this may be one of the best life performances I’ve seen
I WANT MORE!
We Are your Hope
We Keep you Safe
We Are In Control
OH ACT III WHERE ART THOU?
Its gotta be soon, they played like 3 songs from the album that haven't been released online yet at the ohio twrp collab they did this year.
@@kazsixteen7359 I was saying something similar in 2011. That was 8yrs ago now.
GOOD LORD TAKE ME BACK.
@@deggas3665 act 2 is literally gonna be classic rock by the time we get act 3
Spoke to them last night, said they'd head back home, finish up the album and come back to Europe next year.
@@rienparhan7346 I'll believe it when I see it.
I am so glad the sound in this video is really well done, too many times in their live performances it sounds like the audio levels are not properly setup, its so nice to see them preform as they actually sound.
Can not wait to see these guys in London in a couple weeks. I will be losing my shit and my other half will never look at me the same again.
how was it?
@@Shinigami13133 I was there, it was fucking incredible, 2nd best live show I've ever been to only narrowly beaten by Rush
I still come back to this video because Panther's voice just completely kills it. What a legend.
.... Just discovered these guys... All I can say is, "HELL YES!"
Even now, there is hope for man.
I think I've finally realized what his voice reminds me of. His voice is what happens when you take Freddie Mercury (apt, given how much they cover Queen and how he nails it every time) mix his voice with Alan Vega. You get Vega's croon with Freddie's power and high notes!
I 100% agree, his voice is great, in fact, the whole band also seems very very skilled, their songs are really good too!
If there's a band that i hope it explodes with popularity like Ghost did, it's these guys, their work is awesome!
I'm coming to see you guys in Amsterdam. Venezuela to Spain to UK to the Netherlands. I've been a fan forever, and I never thought I'd get the chance. but its a dream come true. Can't wait!
Listening this awesome band for more than 10 yeas, always chilling me out! Greetings from Maranhão, Brazil!
Greetings from Pernambuco, Brazil
The feeling when the live version has better production than the studio recorded version
Feeling the city burn from Bogota, Colombia. Amazing work guys!
I am waiting for Act III and waiting for The Protomen and TWRP to tour the west coast...
Spotify suggested them for me and boy am I glad. Totally hooked now❤
The roll off growl after the high note.... My god... Bliss.
The one time I wake up early, at around 6:30 in the morning in my time zone, I'm GRACIOUSLY rewarded with this and the amazing news via email (I honestly check specifically Protomen-marked emails, everything else is a lower priority for me) and after reading the amazing European Tour news I wish I could join to witness, I rushed straight here at nearly light speed.
This is proof that there ARE heroes left in man.
Thank you yet again, and I wish you well on the tour, albums, and documentary!! Please keep kicking ass!
man the solo is GREAT is this performance.
I’ve never wanted to play a Keytar more than I do while watching this video.
that guitar solo at 3:00 made the hair on my arms stand up
I'm so glad my friend introduced me to the Protomen back in Navy A School. That left an imprint on my mind five years ago, and that imprint will stick around for a lifetime.
I get chills listening to these two albums, and I don't know if my heart can take a third oof.
Always, absolutely amazing! Greetings from Maranhão, Brazil!
So so so so hyped to finally see them in London.
Been a long time coming boys!
Me too! I'm so excited!!
I love you guys! Cheers from Argentina!
The G5 is nuts
watched you guys live at warped tour. you were the band I went there for and I was sad at how small the crowd was, but you performed as if it was a stadium of 50k, and I loved every second. you guys are my favorite band and have been since 2006 or so when I first heard your song the stand, man or machine on an anime AMV and I couldn't help but stand still and find more of you. I hope to see you in concert again soon. I still have my poster with all of your signatures as well as the patches and lighters I bought.
Light up the Night.
Im traveling to Nashville for New Years just to watch them live and I don't think that I've ever been more excited for a concert in my whole life. I've been blasting Live in Nashville non stop to get me hyped and I still get chills every time. The only other band that I've liked so much that I don't get sick at all of listening to them over and over again is Pink Floyd. Counting down the days!
I miss this so much
What a great concert! You guys have fans in Brazil
Always a fantastic live show! I hope the human choir behaved accordingly during the recording of the live album. Can't wait to throw you guys more money to buy it!
You guy need to a show in the Garden. Madison Square Garden needs you guys
The greatest live show around, bar none!
I guess this is why my dog woke me up at 4 AM? Worth it
This band's so freaking great.
This song...the passion..thank you Protomen!!
What an awesome band.
Simply...Awesome!!!
4:09 maybe its just me, but I always hear a callback to Kick Axe "Nothing's Gonna Stand in our Way" in the synth in the background, and as an anthem of my childhood that's awesome.
I had never heard of them till recently but I liked everything about this, shared and subbed.
Saw them live twice in Boston, the live show is something to experience!
Man, this is awesome, i just stumbled upon these guys... they rock so hard!
So glad to finally see you on Sep. 10!
Holy shit! I never thought they'd still be so good!
Amazing show guys!
Brings back memories. Miss seeing you guys in Richmond all the time way back. That show at Empire in 2006 was something special.
Best voice in rock & rollll
Omg it finally came out!!!!! I drove 6 hours to Nashville from Ohio that day to be at this show, and we bought three copies of the Pokemon Act 1 vinyl, one I still have sealed on my desk in front of me right now, I have waited so long for this to come out, this is amazing!!!
I originally came across a fan edited music video on TH-cam back when you guys were newish, back before I knew you guys did music about megaman, but this was the song and I was an instant fan.
Y'all are gonna blow up, I'm sure. Didn't know I needed this in my life before right now. Thank you, and keep it up!
Damn dude! I just discovered this band and saw you guys were in Nashville in April! Can't wait to see you guys next time! Keep it up!
Come to Dallas again!!!
I saw these guys in baltimore for the first time and ill admit they put pn one hell of a show
Come to Cincinnati!!!
YES!!
This hit me with that sort of feeling like a religious fervor, all praise the Protomen, may their reign last for eternity!
Holy crap are you guys still a thing where is part III O.O I love you guys
holy shit, much love from Uruguay
Oh GOD can you please come to Toronto. I missed out a few years back and I've never forgiven myself.
We were just there last month!!! Get on our mailing list so you don't miss stuff! protomen.com
@@ebeseals WHAT!!!! 😓
I would give my TechCore just to see'em once
I saw them at anime punch 6 years ago it was such a good show
I've never been able to see them live, but this video looks amazing! They've not come around here, its like, a $170 flight east if I wanted to see them in Vancouver, I don't have anywhere near that kind of money for a flight to a concert xP
Fucking awesome! Love you guys
Honestly almost as hyped for that quality live album as I am for Act III
Love the vocoder effect
hope rides aloooooooooooooone
Just saw y'all in Richmond a little ways back, and let me tell ya, y'all fucking rock live!!!
HOPE rides...aaaalooooneeeee!!!!!!
Live alblum hell yeah!!
So fucking good
HOPE RIDES

"B R O T H E R!! IT'S NOT OVER, NOT YET!!!"
Awesome camera work, wish it was done for most songs..
I'm surprised that you haven't done a cover up of the touch by Stan Bush
Is this that footage from way back during the 12th and porter show?
gimmie that live video :)
Act III when?
How does 2:20 sound better live then on the studio one jesus o.o
awesome. just wish they'd turned up the volume of the crowd at the end so we could hear them drowning out the robots like in the album!
Damn, I’m so annoyed that I missed out on the London tickets

I don't think they've sold out yet
James is right... there're still some tickets left, so spread the word. Where are you seeing that it's sold out?
The Protomen look out for me in London then!
