    The way that you are doing it is the way that they did before the machines. I saw some of the pros if the tip doesn't cut they just grind it off. You did a good job.

    Great work, I sharpen similar to you except I work the bevel before adjusting the ride line; this is so I can remove the burr while adjusting the ride to save metal on the shear.

      I was thinking to try that too. I was looking at Bonika shears channel and for now I have follow here recomandations. I will try in my next movie your method.

      Im really not trying to promote my sharpening videos, Just wanted to add that free hand sharpening done by a experienced sharpener can work very well, but you really can not beat a guide for accuracy and consistency.

      I agree with you 100%. A guide gives you consistent results every time. Like I have told you I am working on a guided system too but these days I don't have any time for it.

    Where do you get the special key for taking the shear apart?

      It's called a ufo key for scissors. Just google it. 🙂

      The stone I bought it second hand. The strop I made it myself.

      I have tried with other movies to make them shorter but after it is not easy to understand the process.
