Nice to see those old ICG signal bridges before the ICG took them down. Recently there was a former ICG signal bridge at Ashkum before CN was replacing it with their own signal system.
Conductor for ICG: Next stop Arcola. 10 minutes later Conductor for ICG: Next stop Tuscola. Passenger: What's the next stop? Coca Cola? Conductor for ICG: No. Champaign.
I have two other IC postings besides this one, but if I recall correctly, I only visited Tuscola once. I was a visiting railfan who lived in Iowa at the time. I consider myself very lucky to have had such a nice day for railfanning in Tuscola.
Wonderful 90's Train
Yeah, a good day for railfanning.

Why was CSX still using cabooses on their line?
I don't know for sure. However, sometimes railroads use old cabooses as a place for switching crews to ride during backup moves.
Why are there two cabooses on a coal train?
I don't actually know. However, I would guess that the second caboose was being moved for use somewhere else on the railroad.
Please tell me you have more from the Tuscola area! I live in Villa Grove, about 15 minutes from there and 10 minutes from the old IC.

I was just at Tuscola the Sunday before Labo day '19. Got there around 3p and didn't leave until 1a. Traffic was that good.
Sure isn't that way now. But yes use to be a great spot.
