My family has had aussies our entire life and sadly our sweetest pup passed. He was twelve and had bad tumors. He was a tri color. And I feel like most people choose mearls because of their look. But we are also getting another Aussie in 11 days!
I hope you have informed yourself about this dog beforehand. This is a working dog breed! This dog needs physical and mental challenge and exercise. As the Australian Shepherd was bred for herding work, dogs of this breed belong only in the hands of active, sporty and experienced owners who can challenge the dogs, keep them busy and train them. Purely physical activity such as walking or cycling is not enough to challenge an Australian Shepherd. This dog is very intelligent and if it is not properly exercised, it can suffer from behavioural problems such as aggression, fearfulness and disobedience. This dog breed is NOT a pretty accessory!!!! You have to do dog sports with this dog so that it stays physically and mentally healthy. Why don't people inform themselves properly beforehand??? And then the dogs are sent to the nearest animal shelter because they are not treated fairly and the owners are simply incompetent. It's annoying!!!!! 🙄
She seems to be a responsible owner. You should be "properly informed" before commenting this to someone you don't know. There are nicer ways to say that.
I have had many dogs with my parents of different breeds, so I know how to take care of a dog. The fact that you assume any type of dog is considered an "accessory" is disgusting, and I would never get him and then send him to a shelter. I do not support that behavior. I am aware he will need a lot of exercise and attention. We live an active lifestyle and have another dog for him to play with, so he will be good. Thanks for your concern.
Oh my goodness, he's SO CUTE!!!
