Its guys like you that made America great. You know guys who can look at a problem make some drawings on the shop floor with soapstone and build something. I find it fascinating. I went to a rural school in western Fresno County. My dad was a farm worker, i loved to watch him work but he never wanted me to follow in his footsteps. I used to go and watch the guys i the welding shop fix machinery, hang around the parts store and listen to the stories. In high school i was a college prep kid but i took woodshop and AG welding it was satisfying to work with my hands. Anyway went to college graduated, worked in law enforcement and then retired but i always loved that time in the 1950's watching those welders and self trained mechanics figuring out problems and then fixing them. Now i am in my 70's, thanks for bringing back those memories and i appreciate a man who is carrying on.

Big congrats!! Thanks for pushing him into doing the channel Randy. One of my go-to machining channels that has helped my further my skills and gave me a reason to buy a smaller JET 1024 lathe. If you can't find someone to do it, figure out how to do it yourself! And Josh has turned me into using anchor lube, love that stuff now

I love watching machinists videos, especially Topper's, where he fixes things for people, saving lots of $$, or even saving a whole machine due to part unavailability. Love the channel, will be watching more often. I've probably seen only 3-4 videos so far, but loved them all.
I Train our apprentices at our plant. It would be great to give the tools to one of them.

Hi from Pennsylvania I love watching your channel .I am a small farmer and semi retired heavy equipment and truck mechanic ,I own a small metal lathe (12x36) and milling machine, I make a lot of parts fixing farm equipment really enjoy watching you make stuff and learning things . Thank You. 2xl
I got myself some small machines to start learning because I was tired of having to search and buy things when I needed them or broke them. Especially hand tools and replacement parts on small engine stuff. I've learned more from just watching you do things than any of the other machining channels, and that's primarily because you use a lot of wide angle shots so we can see all of what's going on and not just closeups on the cuts. So thank you for the time you put into these videos; they're not only entertaining but they are informative.
