Miss BFA having a bass singer but most of all miss them singing traditional style southern gospel songs like that.

I love their new songs, but I definitely miss hearing the old ones! Those are my favorite!

Pardon my saying this, but a lot of these newer "Southern Gospel Songs" sound like this Charismatic Movement TRASH! I'm so sick and tired of it! They sound more like they want to "Rock out", than to actually live for the Lord! That new junk is something I absolutely refuse to listen to!!!

Brian needs to get another bass in his group. Jeff sounded awesome and made the song so much better.

I love Brian Free’s group, but I definitely enjoyed listening to them with a bass singer!

I agree it really makes them sound so much better it really hurt them when Jeremy Lile left the group in my opinion but I understand he had to because of his health issues

@@Southerngospel18 I think they've gone too much Praise and Worship style.

The thing about it is, they have consistently been much more mainstream, even returning to NQC, since Jeremy's departure. It changed the dynamic of the group yes, but broadened there style. I would say today if there was an average vote of trio's only it would between Greater Vision, and Brian Free and Assurance, and in my opinion (remember opinions can differ) BFA has consistently put out the best albums each year since Jeremy's departure and have been so underrated it's not even funny!

BFA has always been fantastic. Brian has one of the greatest lead singers ever, but man - does this ever show how graphically he needs a bass again. Ever since Jeremy left, their sound has been thin to me. Jeff took a fantastic song and made it just SO much better.

I, for one, fully agree with what you're saying here. Brian Free and Assurance ALWAYS sounded better with a Bass Singer. Hearing this video clip makes me wish that Jeff Chapman could sing for both Gold City, and Brian Free and Assurance!
By the way: I'm of the personal belief that, since Gold City picked up Chris Jenkins from The Kingsmen Quartet at the Tenor Slot, and also picked up Jeff Chapman from The Kingdom Heirs at the Bass Slot, Gold City sounds LOADS better! I don't see how in the World they had Mr. Nalley in Gold City, at the Tenor position. And, apparently, there was a problem with Mr. West at the Bass position. Sounded to me like somebody was saying that Mr. West got to the place, where he was just "Phoning it in", concerning his performances. He had gone through a rather ugly situation at home, from what I heard, though, and we both know that, when that type of a distraction occurs, problems ensue.
As I said, though, Gold City is sounding the best they've sounded in a long time!
Let's see what the future holds for both groups. I wish them the best, and may they always be the shining Christian examples, that God meant for them to be!

Your dad is an awesome singer. He is and has been a great addition to any group he sings with, or just solo. ❤
