Just what I need from a Booktuber - keeping track of what's going on so I don't have to. 😊👍 My most anticipated for this year is probably 'The Beautiful Maddening' by Shea Ernshaw, coming in June.
I dont know why, but I really want to hear you speak in Norwegian! Maybe because, like someone above posted, your English is so perfect, and I've always loved hearing someone who I always hear speaking English just all of a sudden start speaking in another language. Maybe because I wish I could speak another language? Either way, I think it would be so cool!
Lots of interesting books. Thanks for mentioning them. Of those books, I pre-ordered Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. I've only read the first Emily Wilde book. I want to read the next 2
Hi again Alice😉 I had to listen again to this post because when I listened last night I was very tired and not fully focused. Glad I did! I definitely want to read Emily Wildes 3rd bk, The Sirens, The Bane Witch, This Book Will Bury Me, and possibly Portrait Of An Art Thief as well as the one I mentioned yesterday. They all sound so good! Thanks so much!🤗
OMG, Alice! This list is mindblowing!! I think I will start with The Otherwhere Post since I have the ARC. I read Hotel Magnifique by the same author last year and it was so dark and magical! Loved it! Happy New Year to you☺✨
Would I be interested in any of those books? You bet I would! Water Moon: simply the cover alone is all I need. The Lamb: because - the mystery of it all The Sirens: because - mermaids🧞♀🧞♀ Green Teeth: because - pond monster🧟♀ Wild Dark Shore: because - storm Bat Eater: because - 🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇 My first books to move into my modest home in 2025 were "The Haunting of Velkwood" by Gwendolyn Kiste and "Grey Dog" be canadian author Elliott Gish. Thanks as always for the recommendations🤩
Can I just say how much I like your taste in books? It's like: adventure! cozy fantasy! and then the most fucked up stuff I've ever heard about 😆 jokes aside, our tastes don't overlap that much (you would have to pay me good money to read Tender Is the Flesh) , but I love listening to you talking about books. Your passion really comes through
I preordered Grady Hendrix and Silvia Moreno-Garcia. They are auto-reads for me. I think the baby dragon book seems like it will be a cozy hug type book like legends and lattes. I’m in the US so I am seeking a lot of that feeling this year.
I just started The Stolen Queen by Fiona Davis. It is great so far. Davis always writes her books with a NYC iconic building and bases the stories on true events. I've read all her books, and they were all 5 star reads for me.
hi love your video especially books for 2025 iam loohing forward to witchcraft for wayward girls, under the stars the bane with and green teeth they sounds very good happy reading!!📚🥰
Ok so......fun fact. I just created an Amazon list called BOOK RECS BY CASTLE. Thats you, buddy :D All your books that I want to get go here. And.....can I say how much I appreciate you write out your book list for every video? That's so good! I reference it all the time. The book by Grady Hendrix I am DYING to get ahold of - I read the one on how to sell a haunted house? So good. I still think about that book. The baby dragon cafe - what!?!?!??! So cute. Theres a kindle version of it available for $3 on preorder right now. Greenteeth. Sounds fun. The Lamb. - Sounds mysterious! I'm on a low-to no buy month so I cant pull the trigger on buying quite yet. But these are def going on the list :) Tysm!
Read the Earthlings a while ago, like you said - it was a wild ride 😅 it blew my mind, so shocking and raw. I will read more of Sayaka Murata for sure!
The Sirens & Water Moon are also on my radar. Another book that I believe just came out (& I will soon get on audio from Libby) is A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young. It’s fantasy/thriller.
Hi Alice I am looking forward to getting the third book in Emily Wilde’s Series. I got the first one but I need to buy the second one and then the third one when it comes out. I am still reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros Take Care & Happy Reading ❤️🤗☕️📚🔰📖❤️
I don’t know which one of those books I’m most excited to read! They are almost all going on my tbr, I can’t believe it! I’m intrigued by Voice of a Hyacinth, Portrait of a thief, Victorian Psycho, Amber Owl, Death takes me, Soft Core, This book will bury me and The book club for troublesome women… that is way too much hahhahaha thank you for pointing out books that I can’t wait to read!
I preordered The Stolen Queen after being denied an e-arc, and just got it the other day - I'm looking forward to it! I just read Jacquelyn Benson's Empire of Shadows, which sounded similar and has an Egypt-set sequel coming out soon (I loved this one it was so much fun! Very The Mummy). I've also pre-ordered Water Moon, Witchcraft for Wayward Girls (I'm a fan of Grady Hendrix and have read a few of his). There's a few you mentioned I hadn't heard of yet but had to add to by TBR, I got the audiobook arc for Sirens by Emilia Hart btw and it was SO GOOD. Had me in tears at some points. Very emotional read. I'm also super looking forward to (and maybe reading arcs for) The Bewitching by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and A Drop of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett (the sequel to The Tainted Cup, my favorite book last year!!).
I think this IS the year of vampires. I just finished Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice and loved it, so now I'm on the hunt for more. I think I'm going to make it a theme for the year. I'll definitely checkout the ones you mentioned. I also just watched Nosferatu, so I'm probably going to extend the theme to cinema, as well.
Hej! Have you read the very secret society of irregular witches? I think the second book of the duology is also coming up this spring. You might like it.
🐛This is a great list! I've had my eye on The Lamb for a while (very curious about that book). And Victorian Psycho sounds like it could make for some creepy fun.
I have to remind myself every time I watch you, that you're in Europe. Have you spoken English all your life? Your pronunciation is flawless American. Just curious. 🙂
Thank you! ❤️ We spoke Norwegian at home, so all of my English is learned throughout school, where I think we started learning in 4th grade (+ I took English electives in high school) 🥰 I’ve always had an interest in it though, which probably helped as well ❤️
I've been intrigued by this as well. I'm a Canadian and Alice speaks English just the way that I do. I've thought that geographically, Scandinavians are closer to the UK and would be taught English with a British accent. Perhaps they were at one time but the Internet has changed things. Americans somehow win the culture wars. I'm really impressed with Norwegian schools. In Canada, we are taught French (Quebecois) all through school and I never knew it fluently or have kept it in my adult life. I'm not in an area of Canada where it is used much.
Just here to appreciate your fashion style and overall aesthetic. And offcourse the books. Thank you!
Thank you so much! 🥰❤️

Maybe one day I’ll do a video in Norwegian?? Maybe it could be fun! 🥰

🥰❤️
Thanks Alice.😊 So many sound so good! Yrs. & yrs. ago I read every book Marie Bostwick wrote. This one sounds great; just the title!🤗
🥰❤️
Would I be interested in any of those books? You bet I would!

Hahahah this really made me laugh!! 😂 You’re absolutely right 😂😂😂 and thank you! 🥰
I preordered Grady Hendrix and Silvia Moreno-Garcia. They are auto-reads for me. I think the baby dragon book seems like it will be a cozy hug type book like legends and lattes. I’m in the US so I am seeking a lot of that feeling this year.
That makes sense ❤️
I just started The Stolen Queen by Fiona Davis. It is great so far. Davis always writes her books with a NYC iconic building and bases the stories on true events. I've read all her books, and they were all 5 star reads for me.

I'm almost finished with reading The Stolen Queen, and so far it's my favorite Fiona Davis book.
Love to hear it! 🥰
Read the Earthlings a while ago, like you said - it was a wild ride 😅 it blew my mind, so shocking and raw. I will read more of Sayaka Murata for sure!
How cool that you read it! It’s definitely wild 😅
Took a cruise of the Norwegian fiords last year, it was epic! I'm looking forward to the Grady Hendrix and Emily Wilde.
That’s so cool! 🥰
Omg I love marillier. I loved daughter of the forest. I think you'd like that one too. Hearts blood was good but not as good bc of the pacing
I think that’s the one I read and really liked! I should reread it though 😅
The Sirens & Water Moon are also on my radar. Another book that I believe just came out (& I will soon get on audio from Libby) is A Sea of Unspoken Things by Adrienne Young. It’s fantasy/thriller.
Oooh that one sounds intriguing 😍
I want to read the Baby Dragon Cafe!!
It looks so cute! 🥰
Hi 🖐️ Happy New year 🤰👍
Happy new year!! 🥰
This year I'm most excited for the new Taylor Jenkins Reid, which I think comes out around summer 😊
I didn’t know she’s coming out with a new book, that’s very exciting! 😍
❤Great line up
❤️

I reaaaally want to see Nosferatu too! I’m scared tho 😂
Many of these books look intriguing! Have you read Bunny, by Mona Awad? If you like weird and dreamy writing, you will probably like it
I have and I thought it was great, so you’re totally right! 🥰❤️
@TheBookCastle it was great! I am not sure I fully grasped it, but I did enjoy it a lot and it definitely gave food for thoughts.
Oh God, I want to read almost all xD
We are in the same boat girl 😂😅❤️
I am intrigued by Water Moon, Greenteeth and Amber Owl.
🥰❤️
Hej! Have you read the very secret society of irregular witches? I think the second book of the duology is also coming up this spring. You might like it.
Yes! I think it’s coming out in June if I’m not mistaken 🥰
...and the tbr grows even bigger.
❤️
Reading Cloudspotting for beginners.
🐛This is a great list! I've had my eye on The Lamb for a while (very curious about that book). And Victorian Psycho sounds like it could make for some creepy fun.
Yes! 🥰❤️
Well my reading list just got a whole lot bigger!
Welcome to the club 😂🥰
I have to remind myself every time I watch you, that you're in Europe. Have you spoken English all your life? Your pronunciation is flawless American. Just curious. 🙂
I’m an ESL teacher (English second language) and I thought the exact same thing. Her English is better than mine!
Thank you! ❤️ We spoke Norwegian at home, so all of my English is learned throughout school, where I think we started learning in 4th grade (+ I took English electives in high school) 🥰 I’ve always had an interest in it though, which probably helped as well ❤️

Thank you. I don’t know how you keep up with all the new releases!
In 2025, I'm waiting for Bury our bones in the midnight soil by V.E Schwab and Katabasis by R.F Kuang 😊
I’m also suuuuper excited about Katabasis!! 😍😍
I’m curious, can you speak German?
How many languages can you speak
I can understand some of it, and speak a liiiiiittle bit but I’m really out of practice 😅 I only speak Norwegian and English fluently
