It’s like if the chronic was made in 2014.
I have always said one of Americas earliest and rawest blackmetal bands in early years and live. Seen with VOIVOD and Die Kruezen BEST SHOW EVER I mean EVER 1998/99?. Im 52 now those years are tiny bit melted together hence all the LSD/SHROOMS/POT we did back then.

Brilliant ! Came here after a Phantom (Worm) & Ken (Kens Death Metal Krypt) advise ! Great find...love that the bass is so audible...also great kinda crossover between different styles...
It's true Italian is not the perfect language for heavy music in general, but in exteme metal I don't fucking care about lyrics the sound of words is more important for me, i consider the growling more like another instrument. For example: I fucking love Kvelertak and i even if I can't understand a word in Norwegian I think it sounds more evil than English, or sometime the use of Latin language generates a more occult atmosphere.
They don't use Italian in their music though? Also, I prefer it when bands use their native languages... makes it more interesting and unique than the same old English all the time.

English is the most universal language, and lots of bands still write in english. I think its for wider acceptance, specially from American audiences who otherwise might not pick up on the horror of the music. Either way, Mortuary Drape fucking rules

Been into the Drape since the 90s. Evil atmosphere with that old-school thrash / US metal influence and blast-beat brutality. Truly one-of-a-kind!

The genre could be categorized as black metal, but you can clearly hear death metal elements in there. I'd say it's both.
Also massive presence of the obscure Italian school of traditional doom metal (Black Hole, Paul Chain, The Black, etc.).
