I wish Triumph had the wit to step back from this insane headlong rush for the biggest, heaviest, most powerful, torquiest and instead take note of a couple of the late Colin Chapman's guiding principles: "Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere." and especially "Simplify, then add lightness." I repeat: "Simplify, then add lightness." Just imagine a superbike that weighed less than 350lbs.. That's the technical challenge.. You'd end up with a motorcycle that would be ultra responsive, very flickable and much more rideable. It would also be easy to wheel around in the garage. I once owned a Silk 700S (a watercooled 653cc 2 stroke twin).. it weighed 309lbs (less than a Honda 250 at the time).. and did it handle! Come on Triumph! Edited to add: Why on earth would anyone want to use one of these behemoths as "an everyday bike"?
Great bike, thanks for post it.ROCKETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TRIUPH
I have a Rocket III Touring that I use as a daily rider. Great bike!
