Watched a few interviews with the squid crew, this beautiful host did the best job, she knows how to balance who to answer, and she has real response to the actors, instead of just saying “ok”, “wow”, then jump to the next questions. And she got great energy!

He was a big star in Korea before, but now he’s going global and being appreciated on an international scale, his life HAS changed since squid game. She’s not saying he’s a breakout actor, she’s asking how his life has changed since the show.

Bruh wh- yes it does because he wasn’t globally famous before this show 😭 kdramas werent globally popular either they were becoming international but squid game is the show that nearly EVERYONE started watching and started getting global recognition. The evidence is literally in how much his net worth and all of their net worth’s really have increased as well as their recognition as individuals, he will now be recognized as a celebrity in the US as well whereas previously if he came to the US locals probably wouldn’t know who he was unless they were Korean or immersed into Korean media. Now, you don’t have to be in korean media to know who he is, to say squid game had minimal impact on them just isn’t true because he was famous in east Asia but now that’s extending to the west and it was not here before.

It feels so…icky to continue on with such glamorous things like awards shows knowing what’s going on in the world. I’m not hating on anybody who attended, and I’m not even saying they should’ve cancelled the award show. That wouldn’t solve anything. I’m just saying it’s heartbreaking to think we’re enjoying watching awards shows while Ukrainians are being bombed. I still watched it, guess I’m being a bit of a hypocrite. Just a thought though. Nonetheless the cast looked great :)
