It’s been a little over a year since the other, and 7 of the 8, yes, 7 of the 8 emergencies have taken place since late April.

I wish he would use the siren for PDS warnings and emergencies. It made it felt more urgent than what he uses now

No, the siren was obnoxious. If the actual goal is to give people real-time coverage and life saving information, the cheesy sirens made it sound like entertainment was the overall goal.
The new, subdued sound effect and full-screen graphic is much more professional.

@@leq6992 The new way is just too quiet and I’ve noticed some times when he tries to use it, it just doesn’t work. The main reason I wish he would use the old one is because what if the viewer is in the other room or half asleep? Its less likely that they will hear it because it’s too quiet and not obnoxious enough. Think of actual tornado sirens or EAS. Those aren’t quiet and are pretty obnoxious but they get the job done.
The new one is better, the old one was more of a joke then a warning because they used meme sirens and just random stuff.
6 tornado emergencies in 2024. Wow. Far from the most in a single year. 11 TE in 2023, 4 TE in 2022, 7 in 2021, 8 in 2020. The only year there haven't been a TE is in 2001.
We’ve honestly been pretty luck so far this year(knock on wood). Slightly more tornadoes than average, but not a lot of really massive ones. Some of the storm systems we’ve had definitely could’ve produced monsters, but instead just put down a lot of smaller/short track tornadoes instead.
@@charlesbrown4483We’re very lucky, May 6th could’ve been a catastrophic tornado outbreak and there was one particular storm that was able to take advantage of the ingredients, even though the tornado was about over a mile wide just think about what more could’ve happened. All the ingredients were there but the prayers for those who were affected. But yeah, many examples of close calls this year.
@@tomridly8989 Yeah there’s definitely been a fair amount of damage done. Not just from tornadoes either that May 6th system caused huge flooding in Tennessee. But it could’ve been far worse, and the last big system before that one I don’t remember exactly when it was I wanna say it was early or mid April. The conditions for that one looked B-A-D for the entire Ohio Valley, but it mostly puttered out thankfully. Very lucky.

I actually lived in Hendersonville during that TorE which was absolutely terrifying, luckily it stayed just to my south but it did get pretty windy.
Its bad that he got 4 DANGEROUS tornado warnings in DECEMBER 😭

i live in michigan and this was the first ever tornado emergency issued in the state
i live in michigan too, i was watching his stream, i never expected a tornado emergency either!
Before that one, the last time a major population center in the state of Michigan was threatened by a confirmed tornado was July 2, 1997, almost two years before the Tornado Emergency was created. Between 7/2/1997 and 5/6/2024, all the tornadoes went though small towns (Dexter, Dundee, Armada, Gaylord, etc.)

I was one of the broadcasters in a discord server during the tornado emergencies of May 6-9, as well as the twin emergencies of April 26th. It was crazy.

There were 5 total tornado emergencies 2 days ago in Kentucky, sheesh
Ryan went back to the triple beeps for the past 3 streams he did for tornado emergencies. Something he did back in 2021. Somehow his Confirmed tornado warning only beep once. I think they were having some technical difficulties.
I do wonder why he changed the alert sound
