Liverpool were only at it for 2 short periods of the game. We had a lucky break and scored. We will have to play better in the 2nd leg than we played yesterday.
Ange said we’ve played Son more than he had intended this season due to absence of alternatives. Wouldn’t have been the case if Odobert was available. We blood Moore and Yang in ASAP, play Odobert more when he’s back, and bring a new winger in, then Son takes a step back. Sporadic starter and primarily a squad player next season imo.
Savva, swear people are going overboard already. ONE WIN against a Pool team that did not start Szoboszlai who tore us a new one last time. Going to Anfield with a 1 goal lead is not safe. Hope we pull it out but we shall see
@@FootballHeritageTVso little success, so poorly run, and yet the expectations of our fans is for us to be competing for trophies. Or for Ange to snap his fingers and reverse the years and years of failure. Or simplifying the situation down to if Ange plays a low block results will improve. @@FootballHeritageTV Obvisouly it's a hyperbole. Let me make it clear... You and your friends expect nothing short of competing for top 4 and for trophies year in and out. Ignoring the fact that this team has not met that level of consitency in a long time, under several managers with several tactical styles. You ignore the level of effort and time it takes to take a failing team and make them consistent winners. Yet, you still have arogance to come out every week simplfying the situation to: if Ange doesnt play his high intensitiy game, we will achieve some level of consistency. I'm praying for it to be that easy so maybe we can win something. I'm sure Ange is as well so that he can keep his job.
My take on last nite - like anyone who is spurs I was delighted with both the win and the performance. Before the match I just hoped we'd still be in the tie when we went to anfield - and we are. But let's be realistic here folks - we are going to a ground that's our historical graveyard and are likely to face Liverpool's strongest team. So we are going to have to raise our game massively if we are to reach the final. And without wanting to sound negative if we don't now go on to win the trophy last nite will mean nothing. It will just be yet another missed opportunity to win something under enic. PS. special shout out to Djed Spence - outstanding last nite and it's criminal how under used he's been by Ange since he took over.
It is clearly obvious to most of us that Son's performances are consistently poor. The contract extension is more related to him as a money earning commodity rather than his playing ability. I consider the signing of Randall Kolo Muani one of major importance as he could fill the role of both Son and Solanke if the need arises.I believe we have solved the keeper problem with Kinsky so let's now address this major issue and get the guy signed up.
