I love how pims eyes are animated. The filling of the pupils is inconsistent, but somehow the lack or fullness of filling makes for such lively expressions. Crazy how just the way you choose to animate a character's eyes can add so much to a simple design.
It's kind of like how a child would draw pupils (they'd get bored halfway through and not fill them in), which perfectly encapsulates Pim's childlike joy and innocence
I must say that he really is a talented voice actor as well as an great animator coming from Australia. He actually can pull off a convincing American accent, southern or contemporary like it's a natural gift.
This scene alone has so many animation frames. You can tell this episode took the longest to make. Likely also why Adult Swim chose it as the 'free episode". This was the first episode I saw because it was "free". The frame-by-frame animation is my kind of style! Got me hooked. Laughed so hard at the end.
The second episode with Mr. Frog had way better animation. Also, this scene doesn't have many animation frames at all and isn't a highlight of the series, so idk what you mean.

This episode wouldn't really work with any other character other than Pim, his cute and optimistic attitude being contrasted by the dark, depressive feel of the episode, specially the shack scene, where we see some of that positive energy even in one of the worst possible scenario's you could be, makes this episode fun to watch. Even if it's not as funny as the others, it's still a pretty good episode in my opinion. What this episode is REALLY missing is Pim with his big feet and mashed potatoes between his toes though, I think it would have been really funny haha, specially after all that running, I just think it would be very funny, that's all lol
Spoilers for the episode ahead: The jump-scare that happens a bit later in the episode with the first good look at the monster genuinely got me in a way that few actual horror movies got me (and I’ve watched a lot of horror movies). The change in animation style combined with the briefness of the moment as your mind tries to figure out what your actually seeing was really amazing and actually had me a little scared for a moment. Top notch stuff, guys!

They just got renewed for a second season lol calm down. These clips aren't for you if you've already seen everything. People see these clips on the AS channel, possibly get interested, and go check out the show. The more popular the show gets the more likely you'll get new episodes.
