      For most popular, it was shifting from 501 to 505 during those years.

    I have a pair of these.. I wish I had upsized. They fit like drainpipes and that isn’t my thing.. I discovered I liked larger sizes when I bought what I thought were a used old, 32 inch waist STF 1944 pair. They were more like a 36 inch waist. They fit very grungy like with a belt on my 30 inch waist.

    Ohhh thanks for the reference Den. It happened with my LVC 501XX 1955 in Dragnet with subtle pre faded honeycombs in 34 inseam. Finally I get them hemmed by Williamsburg Garment in Brooklyn NYC to 28 inches I’m 5’-5” 😂, with 6 inches being cut the combs are at almost the leg opening. 🤣Fortunately I have washed them regularly and the effect is less noticeable. Keep your great work!!!! Regards. 🙏 👖 ✌️

      You’re taller if you pull the jeans up to your navel.

    The lower front rise, takes some getting used to but I like the relaxed carrot shaped fit, the big back pockets and the deeper arcuate compared with 66 & 84 501s. I also like that they pass under the radar. To most people, they look like an ordinary pair of levi's.
    I like doing an Andy Spade look with them. A modest cuff. Clarks desert boots, Oxford shirt and a corduroy sports jacket.
    The pair you are wearing have faded really nicely.

    im a 90's kid and growing upo the standard 501's had a very similar cut to these 1976. it is so much nicer than the cut of standard 501 we have today. I am lucky to own a pair of cone mills 1966 right before they closed the factory down from american classics a shop in central london for £160. i was wondering which levis 501 has deep pockets since my 1966 is very shallow and uncomfortable when i have my iphone in the pocket and sit down. it digs into the hips/groin area

      54, 76, 84 all have deep front pockets. I know what you mean about the 66. I have to turn my phone sideways to put it in.

      @@denindenim thank you so much. looks like my next lvc wont be a 1947 then which i though might be the answer to the pocket problem. ill probably opt for 54 or 76. I also need to turn the pocket diagnal when sitting and my iphone is only iphone 7 which is one of the smaller iphones. Also do the 76 or 84 have the selvege detail on the inside leg?

    My first pair of Levi’s were also my first “big boy” jeans, late summer 1969 before starting 8th grade. Levi’s has been my primary fashion house ever since, through all the intervening trends and fads. Obviously, I love Levi’s.

    Dad got his first pair of Levi's when he was 17 which must of been 1976. Id really like to get a pair of these rigid.

      It’s hard to know if a Levi’s item will be re-released or not.

      @@denindenim funnily enough they don't seem to sell them at all in the Levi's stores here in Australia lol. It's only 47s, 54s and 55s. I only came across them by chance at some other boutique store which had a few more models. 33% off too ($230aud).
      Unfortunately the Levi store here jacked up their prices. Was $340aud full price which is bad enough but now since the start of the month they've bumped it up to $380 :/

    What’s the difference of the fit of this 1976 with 1978’s?

    • @denindenim
      @denindenim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      78 has lower rise, thicker denim and fits tighter.

      @@denindenim oh cool, thanks. Its really hard to find 1978 these days. I have levis 501, i had it since 1994 and im thinking that model is 1978, hence im desperate to get one. Anyway, Thank you for your hep bud! And more power to your channel!
