Constantine loves Greece, with his heart and soul. He is a man of great dignity, sensitivity, humor and intelligence. He could be a great Ambassador for Greece, especially in the tragodia of the current crisis, which was inflicted on the good Greek Nation by corrupt socialist anarchy - the result of 40 years of self abuse and delusion, in a society deeply divided by 'rumors', speculation and phobias.
Long live Greece, and the exceptional men and women who have inspired the world with philosophy, architecture, science and art for centuries.

You have 0 clue about the pain and the suffer he brought in Greeces people woth his action when he was a " king" here. First learn the history and then come out with " sweet" words for this useless king that never did anything ( he admitted it onair) to stop the dictatorship in Greece.

I remember when i was a little girl my mother read me a letter she received from King Konstantine and Anna Maria. My mother wrote to them from Australia, very sad with 6 children and finding it tough in Australia back in the 60s and homesick , longing to return to greece. King Konstantine and Anna -Maria wrote back to my mum saying that they will help her and will bring us all back, the children to greece. Everytime I hear bad things about them I always remember how kind they really were. They are such a nice family and very close with one another...you can see it wherever they go and just like my mother I believe King Konstantine longed to return to Greece. You never forget your homeland.

When my mom's baby sister, and my aunt I never got a chance to meet, passed away because of an unusual illness at the age of 7 at that time, King George II of Greece (Constantine the first oldest son) send horses with carriages to assist taking her little body to be buried. Who does that now? No one! This is a great example of showing love and respect for your people, unlike the traitors that rule over Greece now.

A real love story, an interesting modern tale I thought, a very humble man, that just longed to just to be able to go back home, tie up some loose ends and walk around his old garden holding his wife's hand, what a story, make a great movie, he could go anywhere but no, he longs to go back to where he feels he belongs, among his people and his private family memories.
I thought he was an exceptional character, very impressive, I think I learnt something here today.
    Thanks for posting.

Putting aside political affairs, nobody ever had the right to remove or even question King Constantine's (or whatever one chooses to call him) nationality. He was born in Greece, won a medal for Greece in the Olympics, was a the king of Greece therefore should at least be allowed to enter his country with a Greek passport, enjoy his properties (which he had paid Greek Taxes on) and be who he wants to be, without harming anyone.

    • @alexandrevchidiac
      @alexandrevchidiac 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Greece belongs to no one, not you, not me, not him. I am referring to his nationality. Roots is a completely different affair, I feel Greek to the bone however a few months ago I found out that my Greek mother's great great grandfather came from Turkey. Will that make me less Greek? Definitely not. Same with Constantine, he was born in Greece, won a medal for Greece in the Olympics therefore he is more than entitled to the nationality. Also, I think the characteristic 'filth' is not to be destined to any elderly gentleman, please try to be more respectful.

@ God ordains:___ Indeed! And your stupidity is the best example of something divinely ordained.
Greeks have no problem whether he calls himself King of Greece, or even Greek, as long as he does it for entertainment purposes. Idi Amin, used to call himself "the last king of Scotland", amused many people and made them happy.
This Danish/German fat person, keeps "reinventing" himself since his first interview in Rome after he ran away from the Colonels whom he originally supported with his Nazi mother. He only remains consistent about the Olympic gold medal which HE won, without any reference to any of the other members of the team.
@ you cannot change DNA:___ You sound ill-educated, and use terms you do not fully understand. If you ever came across any Biologists, Biochemists, or Geneticists who could confirm that they isolated such a thing as "royal DNA" then you must have met them in an institution with white-bloused attendants caring for them.

He was and will always be King Constantine. People may not like kings and queens because they think they are paying them more than the 300 who sit in Parliament and who destroyed Greece and the Greeks but truth is that King Constantine would have been a good king for Greece exactly because he was Greek and he loved his country and his people. Plus with him as king it would have been impossible for the politicians to sign away Greece's sovreignty which they did do after he was betrayed and he had to leave his throne and the country.

I think that King Constantine would have not been ousted, Greece would have been better off. Look at the mess this beautiful country is in now. The EU has ruined so many life's and pushed this country into utmost poverty. I hope, the king will be able to go back, and get his property back. After all, this is not a huge palace he asked for. All he wanted was the estate that rightfully belong to him. It was sad to see him nostalgically walking through his property that has been taken away from him. It actually made me sad, when he was explaining, where and what was, pointing out the grave his parents were buried. I have to get into Greece's history little bit deeper.

In times like this, with much destructive force it is so import to pull strength from our culture. Europe has a long tradition of supporting their Kings and the Royal Families. They have so much to offer of their lands culture they know the history of their palaces. The Scandinavian countries model have so much to offer. The people love when they open up their weddings, their beautiful gardens, interesting exhibitions about their antiques and history. Greece you have always had your kings you kingdom, why do you not choose the Scandinavien Model with their openness. It is much more fun to have a King and Queen, the country will be way more happy and all your beautiful castle and parks will again have the "ROYAL TOUCH".

My grandfather lost his greek nationality and had to flee from Greece during the dictatorship, ad never came back. My father was born in France, my mother is 100% French, but I never felt French. From very young, my link with Greece and the dream to live there was very strong. So I understand how he feels.
Seeing a King Konstantin on the throne of Greece is very unlikely, but a King Pavlos, who knows? With the politic turmoil there is at the moment, it would be the right time to come back though. And probably save us from the German dangerous claws since with him on the throne, we would gain a few allies well needed in Europe.

Nikita, you assert to be accurately informed as to who were the real fathers and mothers even thousands of years ago of the Kingdom of Denmark ?? You could ask why the many buildings of architecture throughout Europe from ancient times until today, hearken to be actually Greek origination. However, strict Truth being important, even in scientific terms, I also do not eat mutton. Additionally, I do not eat Pidgin, as I do not speak hyper-imitation Pidgin languages. The Royal Family of Greece are Greek-hereditary family form blood, and body, and mind.
The fact that HRH King Constantine of Greece, midst the Freak-Out horror of mass parasite disorder made by reactionary sadism which cannot identify the individuated innocent true form Greek child-Family alone and in need ; Rejected and Refused to make the confused action that would harm an innocent Greek in Greek earth: is the simple truth and proof that the King really causes peace. Being then during parasite Coup, the King and Commander of the Greek Kingdom State, he had, and now has; only the freedom to examine strict fact, and the science of knowing the potential impact. That examination is the same Greek study of Philosophy, proof of Truth by quiet accurate intellect, that Aristotle instilled to the prior Greek King Alexander. Fear not for HRH the respected King Constantine of Greece. Fear not about the future of the Greek Kingdom. That is why it is much easier to be the King of the cultural state, than of the hyper-impacting political hyper-agitation State.
HRH King Constantine was my own guide and protector when I was a little 8 years old boy on the Isle de France, during the first traverse of the Atlantic of the then Prince Constantine, the HRH Princess Sophia, and the compassionate HRH Queen Mother of Greece. Through the ship, out on the decks. He looked at me to; 1. find and make the Whole and virtue from Truth; 2. accurately identify each real fact by clear sight intellect; 3. technically resolve that Greek Philosophy proof of Truth; and 4. showing each time, "Boy. I must depart you to my real studies and duties.". He was then, and is now, the serious student. I stood at the leg of Prince Constantine and Princess Sophia at the top of the gang-walk steps at New York docks, as they walked down to the American shore to meet their Felonious parasite sadist betrayers in mass hyper-agitation, mindless and devoid of any technical mind. Each true King and family, and their child-Families of the Royal State, need to study constantly the Felony organized parasite sadism Murders Accession Capital Offenses; which is that good reason which the Danish Kingdom Royal family imparted to the Greek hereditary true-form Royal family.
Boy. You now need not know all the evils of the world, because you need to study. You will accurately learn about your supposed close friends. You will not know what is a Thief, until you know what is a Thief.

No matter what, he is greek and will always be greek. Politically it was clear people didn't want him back as a king and that has to be respected. We live in 2016 and for anybody proclaim to be the King of Hellas and take power like before is not going to happen. Let the man live his life in greece and then it will be over. His son can not be anything but a crown-prince so all this will be fading in to history soon.

I think he is a nice man and he loves his country very much. And I would prefer to have constitutional monarchy but not fanatically. But the truth is, unlike other good Kings (there were some bad ones as well) he shouldn't have sworn the dictators. Full stop. Whatever the cost would be. Even his life. Because his role is purely symbolic. He should have told them "no" and they would put him under arrest or kill him. Either way he would be a hero and he would still be a King today. He was not experienced, true. That's a disadvantage of Monarchy though. He made a massive mistake and he paid for it. And I am sure he knows it. He knows it now. Did he know then? Did his mother influence him? He would never admit such a thing. A tragic figure nevertheless but he didn't have a bad life afterwards. Many mistakes....

Most certainly, people should not be blamed for their parents' ill deeds. Mr DeGrecia has been trained by his parents for a hereditary office. He was shaped according to their values - in particular to his mother's. The fact that he interfered with Papandreou's elected government reinforces the general mainstream view that he knew no better. However, even with him sitting quietly, bothering nobody, still his time was up. The US, who put them there, had no further need for them.
