Ive spoken to John Paul personally about my own defender clutch woes and he gave very good advice to me all on his own time, I trust him to use quality parts and do the job right. Rimmer Bros have a great range of parts but it would make life easier if i could enter my reg number and get the right bits without having to check the chassis number, not a biggy but might help others too.

Another very informative video John-Paul, I suppose if we get a heavy person to sit on the wing to depress the body, then fit large tywraps around the spring coils, that would hold the spring compressed when we jack it up, the spring compressors are very nice, but not everyone has a set. Many thanks for posting this! Chris B.

Great I did this to my defender a few years ago and needed a refresher of what i did and see if there were any hints or tips to ease the swap on my current one. All I'll add with any jobs on underside of a defender that require nuts and bolts loosening, if you can spend the time a few days before spray plus gas or similar product on all the nuts. This helps release stuck nuts and saves time (hopefully) on the day of the work.

Nice video, and very useful to have the part numbers mentoined in the video. I only wonder if there aren't any torque settings related to the shock absorber mounting bolts. What is also very useful for the DIY enthousiast to tell a little bit more about the typical things which you can encounter while doing this overhaul. Like, typical rust area's which you need to check now the shock absorber / spring is out of the way, or what you should use or not use for lubrication or conservation when mounting the new parts.
Hope you appriciate the feedback, I really like these type of video's!

Hi Robert, you only need to replace the turret as and when it is needed, such as when you start to see it corroding. We only replaced the turret on this occasion as a matter of convenience and to show its removal on the video :)

Good video but it’s just another customer who’s paying thousands for extras while letting the most important part of the vehicle to just rust!
First thing I always do is prime the chassis and paint…The amount of land rovers I’ve seen with fancy parts on them with a rotted chassis or bulkhead…
