Grind, Steel, Ergonomics and No Heat treatment talk? I'd say heat treat is right up there with grind. An inferior steel with a good heat treat will surpass steel all day. I'd like to see that I incorporated in the future. Great channel. Thanks for all the content!
G'day mate, fair point "in general" The reason I say in general, is because; all aspects of design are so variable and depends on what the application is, (obviously for many, price is in the equation too). Surely a cheap and cheerful well heat treated 8Cr aint gonna touch, say an average S35. Yes quite an unfair example, but just to illustrate the point Btw Aaron does usually include/speak about the HRC, when known, as a matter of course. Cheers Duke.
@@makevelicustoms G'day mate, fair enough. I reckon its also fair to say, most folks only notice it if its poor. Poor or unsuitable in other aspects, are usually more glaring. Cheers Duke.
It's nice seeing a brand with affordable prices. But personally i love my SRK-C. $34 sk5 -$100 for 3V. My combat knife is A8 chipper steel. The knife i want and im waiting for is eafengrow 149.
G'day Aaron, I am aware some very experienced and astute judges revere ANV units, ..... understandably so. Personally, not that I've got shiploads, though I've "probably" ; ) got enough in the realm of "tac' jobs, but by crikey, I love see'n em on the channel !!!! Many are just so versatile across outdoor applications IMO !!!! and you do a great job of bringing out the particular design elements for the perspective buyer, as well as simply for those interested !!!! Cheers Duke.
The P300 definitely fits the bill. ANV also has other better models suited for combat like the P250. BTW, _Acta Non Verba_ is the US Merchant Marine Academy motto.
I was travelling home yesterday and stopped off at the CZ factory in Uhresky Brod. I picked up a CZ 805 bayonet in their onsite shop. Made from N690 with a 7.5 inch blade, it's definitely a pribar with sharp edges and at 6 mm thickness it will get the job done. Shaving sharp out of the sheath 😊. ANVs are let's say very boutique knives, and due to a pretty in the EU standard sales tax of 20% not cheap. I have a small titanium folder from ANV Z 300 with a sleipner blade, I think it was around 200$. Thanks for the video.
I own the ANV M311 Spelter in Elmax and Sleipner steel, absolutely great knives. The ANV M500 Anthropoid is in my opinion one of the best looking dagger and top notch quality.
Great looking knives- I'd love to have the M311 handle on the P300. Hadn't heard of Sleipner before. Sheaths look like good quality and well thought out, too. I looked up the heat treat info: P300 Sleipner steel 58 HRC, M311 Elmax steel 60 HRC, M200 Sleipner steel 59 HRC. You're gonna have to take a minute and knock the rust off your knives, especially the ones you use for comparison😆
Hmm. I have a few ANV knives, and yes, the elmax ones are pretty pricey, but the sleipner ones are okay. I recently picked up a P250 with camo for 113 euro. Quality, though, you have to admit, is excellent, especially the sheaths.
Yeah for me, honestly they don't look that appealing. I'm sure they are awesome at slicing and whatnot, but naa. I just don't agree with charging that much regardless of steel. That's just me though.
Czech Republic also is the house of “CZ” that manufactures some of the finest defensive “tools” you can lay your hands on.. I’d totally trust their knives!

Awesome tools 👌

Many knife fighters like the edge facing them in a reverse grip, which may explain the taper being narrower near the spine on the top knife
ANV is the goat.!
I have used Elmax in MANY of my knives and I love it.
Sought after?
He can translate Latin, but he can't spell English words.
This.
For those interested, they have the M311 in a compact version. Only in black micarta and DLC, but it's a 4 inch blade and a less pricey.

Elmax for sure. I love the Fallkniven F1 pro and I love my R2 Scout in elmax.

ANV thinks they're making knives out of gold.

No problem, dont buy them.

BOMB!
You Tube poster. No IQ test required.
They remind me of early Extrema Ratio - look like "space tactical", priced like all are made from "M500" and ergo for some E.T. palms 😂😂😂

I'm very upset they discontinued the CZ97
I totally hear ya.. and so the CZ 527 carbine!
