An aunt grew up on a farm. She was given her g-mas snub nose and apron when she was 14. Each morning she tied the apron and slipped in that shooter. Ran off a crazy hobo once with it, called sheriff who arrested him an hour later. (Her gun responded in seconds). Scared off coyotes eating her chickens. The family hung a loaded .22 above every door and in every vehicle, never had to chase a wounded deer, all close kill shots or don't shoot.
We need to bring back that old school America. The respect and responsibilities that comes with being a firearm owner. Guns aren't toys. I grew up with guns in the house and if my dad ever saw me trying to "play" with his gun he'd tan my hid.
I picked up a Night Cobra .38 a few weeks back; I loved the feel of it in my hand. Now, if/when the price of ammo goes back down and .38 is available, I'll be able to practice. In the mean time, I have some personal protection Hornady loaded (too costly for practice...). I have no regrets about the purchase.
Got one a few months back, has the black colt coating on it but is da/sa. Came with a wood grip which I replaced with a vz grip, the smooth black and gray. Looks great and shoots great.
I got one too! Love it. Personally, I don't think it's that heavy to carry. I've got a galco combat master holster that keeps it pretty comfortable to the hip. But glad that you know your gun, watched one video where the kid was knocking the night cobra, said it was cerokoted. It's stainless with a pvd coating. Had mine for over a year now, can't scratch it if I tried. And it does have a much better trigger pull, they went with a leaf hammer spring instead of old style coil. But, like you said, great snubbie. Next one I get is the 3" king cobra.
My friend painted the u-notch rear sight with orange glow in the dark paint for better sight acquisition in low light conditions & he said it's way better now.
I agree with you in the minute 1.20, the New Cobra is really a New DS-II. For me is the reintroduction of the DS-II (SF-VI) instead of reintoroduction of Cobra. But the snake names sells better. And the New King Cobra is more like a New Magnum Carry than a real New King Cobra. (Forgive my bad English)
I'd love a night cobra, but never seen one for sale at a LGS and of course the days of online availability have gone. If they want to rebuild the Colt brand they have to produce the product in sufficient quantities. There's a reason for Glock's success, you can buy them everywhere.
I'm getting one of these to "match" my Python. This is like the gun version of the Spyderco Paramilitary 2. DLC is the best gun coating possible. I plan on putting service grips and a T grip on mine when I get it!
Chris Haupt no peeling on mine but then again mine is sitting pretty in a case but it’s the first I hear of it. Well a friend of mine said that just because it’s new it don’t mean nothing stuff can still come out defective you never know just let Colt know I’m sure they’ll take care of it.
I’m still working on my aim haha, ammo being expensive doesn’t help too much, can’t wait to get comfortable with it, amazing gun and so comfortable to use
I own the 4.25 and love it.just found a KC carry(bobbed hammer)used.bought it mothers day.today went to a local shop to look at safes and they have 2 night cobras.told them ill be there Friday or Saturday to purchase.ill be broke but ill be happy!
Appreciate your review, and glad to see you shoot it so well. Bought mine in April and am just getting around to firing it. Great point about the piece being more similar to the DS than the old Cobra.
I do the same thing with my revolvers. When handling them, I'm always opening and closing the cylinder. The smoothness of the moving parts on a fine wheel gun is very pleasing to a revolver guy, plus it makes cylinder operation second nature for situations when muscle memory may need to take over.
in a revolver caliber, no moon clips cannot be used. Speed loaders can be used so long as you have the right speed loader for the gun. For conceal use, speed strips are a good option because all the rounds are in a single line.
Lmao the kimber can shoot 357 magnum which is what I carry it with. I have the kimber dc and it’s great I’ve shot about 500 rounds out of it no problems and the trigger is smooth as butter. I would still like the Colt night cobra though. Lol

My primary carry. Great gun

It’s an especially nice pistol. I especially like the grip, which feels more secure and balanced than similar hammerless S&W .38 revolvers.
I'm so jealous of your Colt collection. The Detective Special in condition like yours is one of my dream revolvers.
Thanks, I appreciate it. The lesser known Colts don't get the love the Python and King Cobra get, but are cool just the same. Thanks for watching!

I have both and love them. The trigger on the night cobra is just as good as the python. The only downside is weight. Thanks for watching!
I got one myself they are just beautiful. I got one when it first came out. What a beautiful gun.
@KA- BOOM!!! I believe in 2018. It was the regular 6 shot colt in 2017 and then about a year later the night cobra was introduced. Beautiful firearm.

Chris Haupt sorry to hear that by the way.
@KA- BOOM!!! not really.
@KA- BOOM!!! It's not too heavy for me.
I have this gun and its really something else. Appendix carries like its not even there.
I’m still working on my aim haha, ammo being expensive doesn’t help too much, can’t wait to get comfortable with it, amazing gun and so comfortable to use
Too bad they don't make a alloy frame model. I have a first gen. Cobra! Thanks for sharing!
I am interested in this gun as well as the new King Cobra Carry. I love bobbed hammer revolvers.

Got my Cobra for off duty in 1968 for $85 (a lot of money then), still have it but don’t carry it anymore.
Appreciate your review, and glad to see you shoot it so well. Bought mine in April and am just getting around to firing it. Great point about the piece being more similar to the DS than the old Cobra.
Where did you get that wood grip?
The wood grips on the agent, and detective special are stock from colt.
Very nice collection sir, I envy you.
Nice gun. Thank for review
Is opening and closing the cylinder a nervous tick?

Beautiful collection 😍 ❤
Great you don’t see what caliber is it 38? .38+p? .357 magnum how much does the thing weigh? How many rounds? Nice review I’m clueless
.38 +p, holds 6 rds, weighs 25oz
What about reloads ? Moon Clips ?
in a revolver caliber, no moon clips cannot be used. Speed loaders can be used so long as you have the right speed loader for the gun.
For conceal use, speed strips are a good option because all the rounds are in a single line.
@oldmanwitherspoon thanks
Light primer strikes, I wouldn't stake my life on ANY of the new Colt revolvers. Your mileage,of course may vary...
I never experienced that with my vintage Colt Agent 38. Good carry gun because of its alloy frame.
Nice gun!
Colt dont have data about the weight on their homepage.
Heavy is goodt, eif it doesn't worrk you can always hit him with it!!!
Thats a 2k gun today
Bravo !
guns are not "toys" YOU MANIAC
かっこよおおおおおおおお
You didn't pay no 500 bucks for that that's bulshit
I paid $619.00 for mine out the door.
I’ll stick with my Kimber k6S double action only.
Colt is still a better pistol with a superior pedigree, but clearly you’re a dude who prefers a gun with a girl’s name. 😏
