My dog is a mix between the Komondor and a Great Pyrenees his name is Loki and he is the best pup in the world, he loves to cuddle or play as long as your with him, he’s very protective and is easily trained he is only 2 I love him so much
The Hmong dog is named after the Hmong people of Southeast Asia who use them to herd and guard. The photos shown are puppies though, so they don’t stay like that forever. Very smart dogs.

That is Chinese dog, in chinese it is 中华/Chinese 田园/countryside 犬/dog. That dog doesn't represent Hmong, the 下司犬 does. The Chinese dog comes from north China, not Hmong.
Vietnamese here. We actually recognized up to 4 dog breeds as national breed including: Bắc Hà, Lài (Dingo Đông Phương), Hmong and Phú Quốc (which is actually popularly known than the rest). Most of them are breed to hunt and known for their intelligence and loyalty so people here keep them to guard or to train to aid the police. But since the Vietnamese are quite bad at "marketing" them and present these babies to the world, these breed became a niche for the dog lovers.
i think just the west doesn’t know much about asian dog breeds in general and not that vietnamese have been bad at marketing them. like im pretty sure most people in america do not know about the the korean Jindo dog 👀

For those curious: The Hmong Dog isn't recognized by the American Kennel Club because there literally aren't enough of them in the US to determine what a "quality" Hmong Dog looks like. If that sounds dumb, that's because the American Kennel Club is, in fact, pretty dumb.
That’s not the reason they’re not recognized. They’re not FCI yet, a lot more goes into recognition than quantity. Luckily the recent 4 imports will kick off the foundations for the breed here. Our breed club site (Hmong Bobtail club of America) is a great source to learn from!💕
The Komondor is not a breed for most people. I’ve had two and they need a lot of proper socialization and a job to do to be happy. They are livestock guardians. Not a normal pet. Beware. That being said I miss them, they were awesome dogs to our family!
Definitely the Hmong Dog should be recognized if an entire country made the breed a national treasure. The other two breeds should be well known as well.

XL Bullies are a type not breed as as Am Staff, SBT and Pitbull are types. American Bully is a breed and the Pitbull/ Staffords are part of the Staffordshire Terrier breed.

A lot of breeds are rarer than komondors (est 100,000 worldwide. Silken windhounds for example have less than 3,000 worldwide. I thought of them off the top of my head because I have one.

Most dog owners of any breed tend to get what's called pet cuts for ease of maintaining it. Bedlingtons were originally sheep guard dogs meant to alert the Shepard of threats to the flock. So the cut was meant to make them look more like a lamb to help them blend in with the flock. They are an absolutely lovely breed if trained properly and socialized early.
KOMONDORs , just like the PULI, both ancient breeds of the Hungarian shepherds to care for livestock! Their look comes from the corded, thick coat- what , like many double haired breeds-, protects the dog from the heat and sun in the summer, and the cold in the winter, isolating the skin. Needs to be regularly very tediously separated, otherwise they get into mats. These breeds are both- as working herders- super intelligent, agile, loyal, and highly trainable. As with all working breeds, and specially herders, the challenge is to keep them ACTIVE AND BUSY - both physically and mentally! If the don’t get the “ workout “ and just left to be bored, they can get destructive. Not the dog, or the breed’s fault! Owners need to understand, the work and responsibility, what comes with these fabulous animals!!! Joy, gorgeous, and exceptional companions! It’s also useful, if you have a bit of land for them to roam 😆😆
A kommodore I knew, while not being the friendliest, was a great sheepdog. There were a few occasions where there were wolves with broken necks near the sheep’s normal grazing. These are powerful dogs! The owners told me that she went missing years ago.
@@wheelman1324 The Komondor ♥️ They are usually one owner type of dogs. Rugged a bit, like Pyrenese. As they need to be kinda independent and strong to care for the property and livestock. But they are extremely loyal and living, when it comes to their family. However, I can be, that someone wanted to harm the poor guard dog on duty… and even the best guard dogs cannot do much against cruel people. ( Hope it was not that scenario)

Bedlingtons were originally sheep guard dogs meant to alert the Shepard of threats to the flock. So the cut was meant to make them look more like a lamb to help them blend in with the flock.
They are an absolutely lovely breed if trained properly and socialized early.

KOMONDORs , just like the PULI,
both ancient breeds of the Hungarian shepherds to care for livestock!
Their look comes from the corded, thick coat- what , like many double haired breeds-, protects the dog from the heat and sun in the summer, and the cold in the winter, isolating the skin.
Needs to be regularly very tediously separated, otherwise they get into mats.
These breeds are both- as working herders- super intelligent, agile, loyal,
and highly trainable.
As with all working breeds, and specially herders, the challenge is to keep them ACTIVE AND BUSY - both physically and mentally!
If the don’t get the “ workout “ and just left to be bored, they can get destructive.
Not the dog, or the breed’s fault!
Owners need to understand, the work and responsibility, what comes with these fabulous animals!!!

A kommodore I knew, while not being the friendliest, was a great sheepdog. There were a few occasions where there were wolves with broken necks near the sheep’s normal grazing. These are powerful dogs! The owners told me that she went missing years ago.

They are usually one owner type of dogs.
Rugged a bit, like Pyrenese.
As they need to be kinda independent and strong to care for the property and livestock. But they are extremely loyal and living, when it comes to their family.
However, I can be, that someone wanted to harm the poor guard dog on duty… and even the best guard dogs cannot do much against cruel people.
