Agree with you. I just now was able to get a Malibu and they were released like 8-9 months ago. They won’t stop releasing Vero knives and I will get one eventually. Just like what happened with the Malibu
I really love the stonewashed titanium look and appreciate his incorporation of it into so many models. I haven't reviewed one of his knives yet (or much less held one), but I do own a full size fulcrum and it is my favorite prybar I've ever owned (the bit driver is great).
Hey ESB. I know that you were worried about getting the oil from your hands on the micarta. From my experience, you can bring patina'd micarta back to nearly original condition by cleaning it with rubbing alcohol. Just FYI.
I was in the same boat. I pursued a Synapse XL for a few weeks and ended up getting one for an excellent price on the Vero Facebook page. I'll just say that it was well worth the trouble tracking one down.
No hype and no competition from me.. I just can't hop on board... I'll leave them for the knife hipsters Plus I'm not big into Micarta which is the option most people go for... they seem well made though

It’s funny I been out the knife game since Vero became the hot hype of the town and I just got back into the knife world last week and I was shocked to see vero knives are readily available in the groups for sale and the prices are not crazy at all!
The aesthetics are pleasing indeed, the business model is horrible for now but understandable. However, the handle ergonomics don’t look like anything special or even comfortable. They look bearable. And the pocket clips look like they hurt in the hand. How do they feel after extended use?
Why the Hype? Good design and very limited supply with custom knife touches so you feel special. The Synapse XLs that just dropped yesterday were $345 for the base version up to $375, $385, $395. This is a production knife. Throw a little more with it and you could have gotten a Hinderer, or ADV. I imagine most people buying these have Hinderers already. I have a few and don't think Vero's compare. I think the Veros are neat knives but for those prices, I'll throw in a little more and get another Hinderer variant, CR, or ZT.
Joseph has created something different, the market is saturated with knives that have started to all look the same. The accessibility is low, but that's to be expected with a small, relatively new company and I'm sure they will increase the run size as they grow.
I don't own any Vero knives and haven't delved into researching them a terrible amount but hope some people can correct any misconception i have about vero knives. From his videos and what i hear, Joseph is a super guy but doesn't make his own knives, instead designed them and they're made in China with high quality control and excellent fit and finishes. I haven't had interest as it sounds like his prices are around those of CRK and other US small batch makers/ midtechs. I feel if this is the case the models should be closer to other makers of Chinese origin, like we and reate or make them domestically. Given relations with China I'm trying to limit sending money to foreign makers when we have so many good makers in the US with a similar price range and proceeds support fellow Americans
Mr Vero is a classy guy. I have immense respect for his integrity. I had bought an impulse but had to ask to cancel as I needed the money for my child’s school. No quibble, no hassle, an immediate and friendly refund. Now I have the funds I cannot wait to get a synapse XL. please take my money back! And thanks.

So people are paying $800 for Bestechs now?? Imagine choosing a mass produced Bestech over TWO full handmade custom titanium framelocks, one in S125V and one in m398. Instagram is a hell of a drug. Philosophical question: If I buy a clone of a Vero, is that half as bad or twice as bad? Also, is a clone of a Vero actually a Vero clone or just another philip jourget clone?
The knife needs to be broken-in, and the detent ball needs a little lube. Since it was a loaner to be shipped back, I tried to handle it as little as possible.

Absolutely, patience in knife collecting often pays off. It is a full-contact sport, not for the squeamish.

The hype has turned me off the brand completely. I may be an outlier. If the stock becomes readily available, I’ll consider picking one up
