Thank you Shinichi for taking us on another wonderful walk, this time in Osaka. I'm sorry for all the vendors who had to close, but i'm sure once international travel is allowed Kuromon Market will get back to it's glory.

Thanks for the memory refresh. It's been two years since I was there. As soon as Japan drops the two week quarantine, I book my ticket. :-D

I'm trying to plan a trip for 2023, but I want to go to more remote, less crowded areas. Crowds like this freak me out normally, let alone during a pandemic.

. I live in the US but my family is from Osaka. I went to high school there. I haven't had the opportunity to visit my family in a while. Thank you for the video Natsukashi. .It is sad but I am trying to stay optimistic.

It's sad seeing some shops closed for good but good seeing others survived & business as usual. Hope things get better soon. Thanks for sharing, Shinichi.

Haven’t been there since 2018. Kurumon market was so busy that I could barely walk. Sad to see so many businesses closed.

it's sad, but we foreigners can't fly in either as much as we want to visit Japan again. Very glad that I did go to Japan in Dec 2019 just before the pandemic occur, or else I'll be soooo sad.

One of my favourite coffee shops/roasters in all my travels is not far from Dotonbori in Nishishinsaibashi, if you are ever around I highly recommend Lilo Coffee Roasters!

Maybe you should look into getting a noise cancelling mic adapter so that you don't have to worry about being copyright-striked for music (if that is possible). It looks like since that food court mall is quite narrow that food places had to shut down, which is tough to see. I'm in Seattle, everything is open but most folks seem to wear masks and not interact with others when they are shopping. I don't eat at restaurants often (I tend to pickup food) unless they are mindful of space.

iḿ sorry about the store closings and your favorite store. When my favorite sushi place closed, it was devestating. It was like everyone from high school went, and now we have no place to hang out.

Thank you for the video. I recalled my 2nd visit to Osaka. Perhaps you can show the places by Osaka train station. I wonder if they are busy. I remember a stand up whisky bar.

Enjoyed today’s walk around Osaka’s shops and restaurants. Love the shops statues and facades so colourful. It’s a shame to see some of the businesses closed though. Hopefully these places will get back to normal again. Surprised how busy it is at least people are trying to get on with their lives. Thanks again Shinichi 🙏👍😀

Thank you for the update! We're in the process of planning our fall 2022 trip to Japan. We remain hopeful we get to visit again. I'm so heartbroken to see all the businesses that went out. Glad to see some of them open.

My favorite chinese restaurant closed for good because of the pandemic. It's so heartbreaking that all those shops had to close because of the Pandemic. But I wasn't expecting the other bustling area. What a difference. And I like the giant statues also.
Looking forward to the river walk Shinichi. Take care and stay safe.😊

I have to agree Shinichi it is sad to see Kuromon Ishida so empty due to a lack of tourist. But when all of this blows over I'm sure it won't be long for new food halls will open. Another return visit to Okinawa in the future 😉💜💚💛💙

This video depressed me. I went to Osaka in 2018 and my whole family bought various foods from various stalls at Kuromon. We had a good time eating delicious new dishes. The first and only time I ate Kobe beef. I don't see the place where all sat to eat so I bet it's one of closed down stalls. At least Dotonburi is still hopping.

That building with the Nayuki sign used to be the Forever 21, I think. That company was having a hard time here in the States, so I wonder if that closed pre-pandemic there or not. That's definitely a lot more people in Dotonbori than I've seen in a while now. Even watching it kind of kicks my anxiety into high gear. 😅

Irs been almost 10 years since I've been to Osaka. My friend studied at university there at the time so decided to visit. Sad to see so many stores closed even if some is temporarily. I'm scared to see which shops have closed down when I finally can come back to Tokyo, even though many places I go to are really local (fingers crossed my favourite shoe shop is stil in business, where I buy my sneakers)

Glad locals can enjoy the sights without so many international tourists milling about. Sad to see some businesses have closed. I hope other businesses can stay afloat and bounce back soon. I was going to send you a box today but the lady at the post office said that I could still fit in a few more items to maximize the box size and shipping fee so I'm looking for more things to add :D

What a cute place again! I'm to old to travel to Japan now, such a shame I didn't do it when I was still young and healthy. I have a question. Is Hachiko at the trainstation Shibuya in Tokio still there? If so, could you place make a video about him one day?

so are you guys struggling with short staff? could that be the reason for the long lines?? In Virginia that’s the problem we are having is people not wanting to get back to work because of all the assistance they are getting from the government so no one wants to work and we struggle with long lines and long waits. Not saying it’s everywhere but the area that i live in it seems like it. I see hiring signs everywhere I go. I dream of the day I will get to visit Japan. I’m learning a lot and watching a lot of videos to make me want to go more, lol Arigato!!

I get so mad when I see the unnecessary economic damage that was done thanks to govt restrictions. I live in Hawaii now but I'm originally from Florida and the way the two states handled covid made such a difference. Both are tourist economies but Florida hardly had any mandates or restrictions whereas Hawaii is still limiting things and the differences in our economies and employment are totally opposite. We've even gotten some tourists from Florida at my hotel who can't believe how restricted things are here compared to Florida. Worst part is that Florida has a very low covid case per capita and its been falling for months. Sad truth is some govt. screwed up the response to covid and now we are suffering the consequences.
