Okay, I am actually gonna defend Type O Neg a little here. Origin of the Feces was the bands second full length, but it was a "faux" live album comprised of songs from Slow, Deep, and Hard, their first release. The entire thing was tongue in cheek, with Pete chastising the audience over and over, evacuating the venue for a bomb threat, etc. hence the literal reference of the title and the art to the album being shit. Also, keep in mind, they were nowhere near musically what they would become, the goth metal theme ( which Peter acknowledged several times over the years as being a complete money grab and an effort by the band to write stripper music to meet girls ). At the time of Origin, they were essentially N.Y. hardcore/punk/chuggy metal with Pete screaming as opposed to singing for most of the album. The highlight of both Slow, Deep, and Hard and the "live" Origin of the Feces is the song Unsuccessfully Coping with the Natural Beauty of Infidelity ( I Know You're Fucking Someone Else ), which includes the classic lines, " You had cock on your mind, Cum on your breath, Inserted that diaphragm before you left, Practicing freelance gynecology, Where there's a womb there's a way, With you it's for free..." So really, an anus on the cover was fairly reasonable...
I have that Type O Negative CD with Pete's "Brown Eye" on it. My sister gave it to me from her collection because it made her feel sick looking at it😆😳
I never even knew about that cover until this video. I had a cassette version with a medieval woodcut of skeletal figures on it, that must have been the "alternative".

Congratulations! I quit last year after 35 years, It's totally worth it. It gets easier after the first couple weeks and so on. For me managing my urges was the trick, I just found other things to do, games helped a lot! Good luck and if you don't succeed, try, try again. There's bound to be bumps along the way but they are worth overcoming. :)

ORIGIN OF FECES is hands down my favorite Type- O Negative album. It's a brilliant piece of darkness, as a hole. Glad I was able to see the band before Peter Passed, He was a Giant. I saw them when they did Ozfest with Pantera, and when they were on I thought Peter was drinking a beer until Phil Anselmo came out and took a haul of it and we all realized it was a wine bottle.
I love that and Slow deep and hard, equally. Both are just so raw. Also. I love the song called The subhiman. It is more metal than Metallica will ever be.

The Keydragon one is beautiful and 10x better than any of these generic, technically detailed but soulless medieval scenes you see everywhere. Autopsy's and Type O's work for what they're going for, Therion's is very cool as well. Most of these worst album covers lists are just really good niche art, usually way better than what you'll see at the top of most "best album covers" lists.

I was watching EX Jehovahs Witnesses videos and how it's a cult and I left the cult religion over 20 years ago so I was just watching how I was raised in a cult and was in a bad religion and just catching up knowing my past etc. you know just getting closure and I ended up here as recommended viewing and I was like...lol WTF?
