I have a John Deere 2720, which is a 32HP. Do you recommend getting a 3-pt log splitter that runs off the hydros or pto? Or do you recommend a independent log splitter like the ones in this video? Also, what has better resale? I assume an independent log splitter as anyone can buy and use it without owning a tractor.
I would say the one really nice bit about a 3PT splitter on a compact tractor is mobility. I know people will say the trailer is mobile but my uncle always had a 3 point on a tractor and it had a hitch so you could go out into the wood lot with a trailer and the splitter decouple the trailer and quickly move the tractor to big logs and split them so you could toss them into the wagon. To be fair though we always went out with several guys and hand split small stuff, even at a 13 second cycle time once the big stuff is cracked a few times it is just faster to swing a wedge...
Same company makes both. Blount International. Speeco, woods, county line, country tuff, huskee etc. All one in the same. Just different colors and logos.
Hard to beat that price delivered to your door. Sure couldn't find a deal like that when I was in the market for one.
Great job on filtering out the engine noise.
Anything with the name woods on it is expensive, but damn good equipment!.
Hey messicks how do you take the loader off a kubota L2501 tractor

We do not recommend 3pt splitters. Search our Channel, there is an entire video about it.
Why use a $20+ K tractor to power a wood splitter?

The woods model looks the same as a county line

Audios screwy, move the mic further away from your mouth seems like sometimes your yelling right into it, then at times talking away from it.
