Awesome, I know it's completely different but, I make my own instant rice. I cook, then dehydrate it. In an emergency it will cook up faster, using less power and less water. I look forward to a video on your fried rice with more info on how to make it 👍🏻
I do this as it saves a lot of money buying sacks of rice, I also freeze uncooked using my food saver in weekly sized batches as it keeps indefinitely and just need defrosting and then i keep it in an air tight container
Dry rice has an shelf life measured in decades if kept cool, dry, and clear of pests. Stories I've seen of people who have tried very old rice (after 20+ years storage) have said it didn't absorb water quite as well but was otherwise perfectly edible. Some people will freeze their dry rice for a week or two before storing if they want to make sure to kill off any possible bugs. You have to make sure you don't introduce condensation / moisture with the process through as that will greatly reduce its shelf life. If you do go that route you could think about including a food safe desiccant.
that was alright.... but I have to say I would have liked it better if you had let the rice thaw properly instead of having to break it up like that. it's nice to have perfect grains of rice in your fried rice, instead of them being all broken up. it looks better. But I really liked your video overall. I'd rate it 8/10
Thanks. But if you've ever done this method (or even bought pre-cooked rice in the shelf-stable packages at the store), you'd see that the grains of rice stick together even when not frozen. White rice is sticky, and when they get all squished together, ya gotta break them up a bit. If I had let this rice thaw another 24 hours, I would still have to do this.
Great high-speed vacuum seal sounds! lmbo.
That is a great idea, Great Lakes!! I had never thought of freezing rice this way. Very convenient. Thanks for another very useful video! God bless!
Super helpful rice preserving video, thank you! Also, the fried rice looks delicious!
Thanks, I appreciate it!

Thank you Sir!
This is going to be awesome...To more mess...Thank you
Could you freeze the stir fried rice too?
What size bags are you using to store the cooked rice in?
I'm using 8-inch wide bags cut from rolls that I sealed. I put the link to them in the video description.
Where did you buy stop watch pls❤
The kitchen timer? This is the one I use:

Instead of oil it's easy to use parchment paper on the drying tray...works for me.
BTW...nicely done sir!
Have you tried to reheat the rice in the microwave for a side dish ??
I haven't tried it yet.

I packed up 2 cups each uncooked white rice using my food saver and the bags are in a bucket not in freezer. Do you know if it will keep ok that way?
If it's uncooked, it's fine. That's a good way to store dry rice.
Flash freezing?
