Thank you for posting this incredible footage. This is still the greatest race I've witnessed in SA in all the years I've been following the sport (since 1983).
Basil Marcus did not use the whip. Strange. For those who don't know, Potomac beat Model Man... Super close. It came down to jockeyship. One of the best races ever. I think of Jeff Lloyd has ridden model man he would've won. Marcus is a great jockey though, funny get me wrong.
