- A life of crime, even in the past, can get you into trouble. A former swindler winds up in custody for a crime he did not commit. He tries to walk on the straight and the narrow once he is free by working in an athletic club. But a club member takes a dislike to him and frames him for stealing a purse. Finally driven over the edge, he is prepared to risk prison again to avenge himself.

Excellent. Listening to these is a good use of time. One mans humble opinion. Ralph bell and robert dryden are my favorites. Enjoying chillys channel for over a year now.

This was an excellent tale of mystery, filled with enough twists and turns to hold my interest throughout!
Admittedly, I was pulling for the wrongly accused and convicted worker to exact his revenge, but I really enjoy endings that I don't expect.
Great lesson in this well acted story about the price we pay for what we dwell on, be it someone trying to get someone in trouble, or someone trying to get back at someone for they did.
Exactly! 1) Before you set out on a path of revenge, dig two graves; yours and the target for your revenge.
An excellent story of unending lifelessness and this thing like a cold bitter wind of being unable to breech past it...someone finally heard my words. It is devastating! Good show.

I hope after listening to adaptations like this will entice others to the source, writers like the brilliant Guy de Mapaussant :-) This one taken from a masterpiece of mystery, "A Piece of String."

I guess I wanted Peter to end up with the money, but it wasn’t his to begin with. He was dealt a bad hand in life and unfortunately the black cloud followed him around.
I just listened to a story similar to this not long ago. It had a different title, so basically I wasted my time.

I would have preferred it if the writer decided to make him innocent and gone that direction with the story. It was too easy to write the direction he went. maybe he had writer's block and took easy way out.
